Thank God they didn't play "Endless Love" by Lionel & Diana! When Casey mentioned "duets", that's the first song that came to mind. Actually, I'm surprised it wasn't played, since it was one of the most successful A/C duets. But I'm glad they didn't play it, since I don't like it at all.
Notice they're back to playing songs from the 1960s. Three songs from that decade were featured on this show. The Spiral Staircase song I'd heard many times before, but didn't know it by title and artist. I always swore that it was a song by Stevie Wonder, since the singer's voice sounds a lot like him. I thought it was called "Every Day's A New Day". But this weekend, I found out what it was for real.
The chart sure moved fast this week (for A/C). Michael McDonald surprised us by moving back up four spots after practically dropping out of the survey last week with his cover version of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough".
Martina McBride fell back to number ten with "This One's For The Girls", which is also a surprise, since that song's Top Five on the R&R A/C chart. Maybe the song will do the same thing that Michael McDonald does this week.
We also have a new number one song, "White Flag" by Dido, which is another surprise. When "First Cut Is The Deepest" fell back to #3, I felt sure that Five For Fighting would take over the top spot. There could be a battle between them and Dido for the top spot over the next two months.
