www1.allaccess.com/sounds/calvinot.ramSince "Keep On Pushin" didn't really do much, I don't expect this one to. It's a little boring to me right now, but so was "KOP" to me at first and it went all the way to #3 on my personal chart.

CALVIN RICHARDSON Not Like This Producer(s): the Underdogs Writer(s): H. Mason Jr., D. Thomas, Publisher(s): First Avenue Music/BMG Music, ASCAP; Demi-Songs/Edmonds Music/EMI April Music, ASCAP Genre: R&B Label/Catalog Number: Hollywood PRCD-11656-2 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: January 31, 2004
Singer/songwriter Calvin Richardson attracted attention last year with first single "Keep on Pushin'." Along the way, the song's old-school feel, coupled with Richardson's delivery, evoked comparisons to such legendary R&B balladeers as Sam Cooke. This follow-up gets down to the heart of the matter: Richardson can stand alone on his own as a singer. His expressive tenor strokes lyrics that boast—but not overly so—of his love game. The song's subtle groove, accented by the Underdogs' understated production, tunefully illustrates that Richardson is a contemporary R&B force.—GM

I thought KOP was alright, but I really hated it when you change up the original lyrics from A Change Is Gonna Come and call it something new. It's a soulful effort for Calvin though, but Josh I had to agree with you on this follow-up. Which reminds me, did he do anything on his collaboration with K-Ci called I'll Take Her? When I first heard that song it was a cross between Al Green's For The Good Times and a little bit of Chicago's Colour My World.
