I love this song so much. I only heard it once prior to buying the CD and I am really happy with Happy, LOL. It's a beautiful song. Even that goat thing she does (be-UGH) grew on me. Yeah, I pointed that out a while back, it's annoying.

In the UK, their main chart (The Official UK Charts Company) is the UK Singles Chart which is based on sales. But that way song's are disposable. There's no journey or rise or fall, progression or failure. A song enters high, falls fast and disappears. Maybe iTunes should be more of a factor, but please let's not start going UK with our charts. So what you are saying basically, is that you prefer the current system, simply because it sustains your desire to discuss songs on this board. The current chart is an artificial construct and has nothing to do with popularity. Does this not bother you?

So what you are saying basically, is that you prefer the current system, simply because it sustains your desire to discuss songs on this board. The current chart is an artificial construct and has nothing to do with popularity. Does this not bother you? No. Because it's more interesting. Song's are less disposable, they last longer, they have more of an impact. It harks back to a different and more exciting era, it retains a legacy and tradition. It's a much better compromise of what people chose to listen to and what people chose to buy. Rather than just the latter. You better believe this 'anti-chart' talk is specifically because of this song and not the chart itself. If this song was getting a tonne of airplay and no sales (ala Already Gone) then people would moan too. Moaning about relying on radio as opposed to iTunes is like moaning about giving too much credence to television rather than television DVD's. The Billboard charts, the multitude of them, span a wide range of genres and formats, with varying criteria, and give a good enough indication of the most popular songs in the country. Sure, there are issues of agendas and discrimination, but the whole medium of radio is part of the culture rather than means to an end.

Leona did a webchat on KIIS FM tonight. She said the next single is likely going to be 'I Got You' or 'Outta My Head'.
She'll be performing 'OMH' on Jimmy Kimmel.

^ JoJo tweeted that she was losing her voice rapidly during the interview.
What a bummer just as US promo starts.

Was she lipping? Looked like it, and it would make sense since she apparently lost her voice.

She was completely live in that performance. They even took out the high note cause she's still recovering.

Without the high adlibs and stuff, it's not really that hard a song to sing.

Unfortunate that this song flopped harder than I'll Be This was much better and has had more support from the public. Radio could've waited a bit before dropping it. Precious and Xmas time could have helped it. Sad :(

If Leona was an americans she should be worried but she is not. What does being American have to do with it? The label is clearly pursuing the American market and the fact that this did nothing here must be disappointing to them. Especially after the grandiose praise she received when she made her breakthrough here. Expectations were high and they have not exactly been fulfilled. I guarantee you someone in her camp is slightly concerned.

It's kinda weird that this song collapsed to near-zero spins in a matter of days while it was rising fast on iTunes. Yesterday it had only 17 spins on Pop, compared to 103 spins the Thursday before.

J Records know that the people do love "Happy." This song is featured on TV commercials for the movie, "Precious." And because people hear that song they have been downloading it on iTunes. The song has been charting in the 20s on the Top Songs iTunes chart.
Radio programmers are the ones who rejected this song...not the public.

to those saying this song is great,i disagree.maybe the lyrics is great, the vocals is great but the hook is so weak.i am not surprise to see this flop in this case.

I'm bugged that they still have her pushing Happy on all the US promo, its obvious the song is dead in the water.
What a complete waste, they should be pushing a new song.
