I was so surprised to see this at Target last night. I had no idea it was coming out yesterday. Just like when I saw the cover of the CD weeks ago, I didn't like it yesterday either. It looks SO uneventful. The CD looked like one of those $5 compilations that you find sometimes at Best Buy of Walmart for tons of artists which cover are basically all the same and done with a pretty simple illustrator software.
I hope it sells well, but it didn't look at all like the big release of the week...

Paul Cashmere is one of the long established music critics in Australia and an early pioneer of music journalism on the internet.I think he knows the infamous Ms. Devlin and does not like her. REVIEW: Britney Spears in Melbourne November 11, 2009 by Paul Cashmere - November 12 2009 photo by Ros O'GormanLets start by getting one thing straight. Rebekah Devlin, who started what quickly developed into Britney-gate this week in Australia, clearly got it very, very wrong. At the Britney Spears show tonight at Rod Laver Arena, there were no mass walk-outs, there were no disgruntled fans and the audience was genuinely entertained. Just for the record, I am not a Britney fan but ‘Circus’ is a very good show. Forget the “but she mimes” argument. It is irrelevant for Britney. She is a popstar. She has never pretended to be a serious musical act like Radiohead. She is what she is and has never denied it. Keep in mind at parts of their shows, Cher has lip-synched, Madonna lip-synchs, even Roger Waters did it. So lets just eliminate that from the scorecard and score the Britney show for what it is … a very entertaining show aimed at her core fans. If you are a Britney fan, you are going to love ‘Circus’. It is over two hours of escapism and yes it is a real circus. Actually, if Ms. Devlin focused on the freak show featuring the midget or an amputee on a trampoline she might have been able to beat-up a better story. Did she even notice that? Not that it mattered. It was visually compelling. Yes, a Circus it truly is, with magicians, acrobats, a tightrope and … was that Perez Hilton dressed up as The Queen? The costume changes are covered up with musical segways. One featured Marilyn Manson ‘Sweet Dreams’ and another Michael Jackson ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something’. Lets give a special shout-out to the two kids in the front row. Britney’s children Sean and Jayden watched what Mom did for a living with Mom’s new beau Jason Trawick . For the record Ms Devlin, Jayden left earlier so your headline tomorrow should read “Even Britney’s Kid Can’t Stand Her”. Sean left before the encore, so you can beat that up into a headline as well. In Vegas, this show would be up for “show of the year”. In Perth, based on a one-woman jury, it doesn’t rate at all. Melbourne, the home of Australian theatre, accepted another good show.Britney is more than 90 shows into a world tour with Circus. How funny that Ms Devlin wasted her 15 minutes of fame on something that has never pretended to me anything more than a pop show.

Will the CD/DVD version of this be available in the US or is it just international? I'd totally buy that.

100K is good, considering the deluxe edition isn't out yet. I know as a B-Stan that I refuse to buy the standard and am opting for the deluxe. I'm sure a few thousand will do the same. Plus, this should do pretty well during the Holiday Rush. I'm happy with 100K, it's a great start for a GH compilation!
starsprinkles - From what I understand, it comes with the box set.

I don't think it is bad at all for a Singles Collection (and she had a Greatest Hits just 5 years ago).

Her 1st GH didnt really move units, either. She's not Madonna, she's not making pop that lasts.

Is there a reason why the label released the standard version two weeks in advance? Why didn't they just release it all on the same day?

Singles Collections or Greatest Hits CD's are just completely useless these days... Anyone can just buy all these songs on iTunes or already has them on their hard drive. The reason GH or Singles albums used to be popular is because you could get all your favorite songs from an artist on one CD... Now it's all too easy to do that without even purchasing the album.

Her 1st GH didnt really move units, either. She's not Madonna, she's not making pop that lasts. What? Her first hits album sold 255k in its first week and 1.3 million copies overall in the U.S., despite the fact that its only single here was a flop and she did ZERO promotion. I'd hardly call that a disappointment. Anyway, 25k isn't all that bad, considering this is her second hits compilation in just 5 years AND it only has one new track (a track that most people have already bought digitally). Just be glad that it isn't going to sell less than BITM. Now THAT would have been embarrassing.

Stunning. She looks beautiful with curly hair. I wish she'd wear it like that more often.

The Melbourne Herald just put up their concert review. The review isn't very good, but there some good points, like how they say Britney's in control and looking great. And glad to see her kids there :)
MELBOURNE got to see something new at last night's Britney Spears concert.
No, she didn't sing live. For better or worse the 14,000 fans already knew the serial lip-syncher is a singer who doesn't sing.
No, unlike her Perth fans the audience at Rod Laver Arena were able to watch Spears on the large screens.
Were you at the show? What did you think? Leave us your reviews in the comments below
It made all the difference - her legions of fans could see her famous face up close, goldfishing along to her hits.
The two smallest people in the venue were her two biggest fans - sons Sean Preston and Jayden James sitting in the $1500 love seats' surrounded by security guards.
Hopefully mum explained later why she was cut in half by one the show's magicians, lap dancing a handcuffed man and spending parts of the concert gyrating in hot pants and a bra. Hey, at least she was wearing a bra.
If you can get past the shameless miming (she even lip synchs a spoken word interlude with her dancers) Britney's Circus tour looks spectacular and you can see where your money went.
And while she looks great and in control again it's clear Spears isn't dancing as intensively on stage as she once did. It's certainly not to preserve her singing voice.
So while the dancers are amazing, their choreography is designed to carry her - often literally. As a dancer she's possibly the weakest link in her show.
But her star power overrides a lot of the concert's flat spots.
Some more engagement with her fans would have been nice - at least we got a ''What's up Melbourne'' rather than Perth's generic ''Hello Australia.''
That brief live chat was the only time she justified having a microphone strapped to her head all night.
Still she's had some of the most brilliant pop hits of the last decade and most were delivered nearly exactly as you remembered them - Circus, Womanizer, Piece of Me, Toxic and Baby One More Time.
For live pop performers, we've been spoiled this year with Pink and Beyonce. Britney's show promised to be a spectacle. Depending on how live you want your live shows to be, you got it.

I have decided it would be cool if Britney released a re-recorded 2009 version of Born To Make You Happy in the states, and shot a new video. The video would be directed by Joseph Kahn of course. The opening scene would be a very elegant Britney with a flowing dress and heels sitting in a dark room watching a bunch of tv monitors of her ex-boyfriend, following him everywhere he goes. Her ex enters a bad relationship and Britney is basically watching the monitors singing for him to come back to her because she will treat him right this time. Then the video goes back and forth between this and a black background of her with the camera panning around her 360 degrees while she sings, especially the parts on the bridge where she does all the ad-libs. She's very emotional looking here. And another scene with the original BTMYH choreography, just in modern costumes and a plain black background. And in the end her ex enters the room. Sort of a 'Stronger', 'Because of You' feel to it. Just got bored and thought it up. One can dream. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

Can someone post a list of all of the record-breaking accomplishments she has achieved so far?
Particularly dealing with sales, tours, chart position...and everything else. Thanks.

Oh, she looked so great in Melbourne!!!!!! I cannot wait to have this box set in my hands! ![](http://i.imgur.com/2smy76v.gif) The DVD is going to be so stellar. I really can't wait. I'm still so mad that 'Boys' isn't included, but I think I'll live.

New Britney album in Spring 2010? That would be so f***ing hot.
Unfortunately, Britney's new CD SINGLES is a complete flop. 15k first week is pathetic.
