The title track, and first single, from Prince's new album is set to debut next week. A download single will be available for 99 cents. He will also be shooting the video soon. The "Musicology" tour starts next month.

I can't wait to hear this. I like the fact that he's talking with major labels once again, it would be nice to hear Prince on the radio again and to see him on the charts. He's not going to do that through the NPGMC.
Come hell or highwater, I'll be seeing him in April.

I'll hopefully be seeing him when he comes to New York which he said he plans on doing late this year. The Pittsburgh date is the closest to me out of the confirmed dates and that's still a little far.

I'll either catch him in Columbia, SC or Atlanta. Hell, maybe I'll do both.

He seems to always be on tour! Yet I haven't heard any of his latest material.

Because his new stuff is really bad. >:( It's not bad at all, it's just not radio pop like he did in the 80's. Obviously singing with a live band about being a Jehovah's witness was not going to score him a hit. It has nothing to do with quality.

Well the last song I liked from Prince was "I hate U". Since then I have heard his albums but haven't liked any of them. IMO they are dreadful to listen too.

Prince performed "Musicology" on The Tonight Show (Feb 26).
Will this return Prince to #1? probably not
However, the is Prince's best cut in several years. I can see it as a critical (and hopefully) a commercial comeback.
His interview with Jay Leno is great. Prince said his favorite track is "When Doves Cry". I am very much looking forward to his return.

I can see it as a critical (and hopefully) a commercial comeback. Is it more commercial than "Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do"? I still don't get why that song wasn't released as a single. Lenny Kravitz got a huge hit with a blueprint copy of that song ("Again" ) one year later.

At the moment, I'm disappointed with the song. I thought maybe he would sacrifice lyrics for a really catchy song. But basically, this isn't that catchy, has really bad lyrics by Prince standards... and I don't know. It's just there. It's good. It's Prince. But I'm not blown away. It sounds like "Diamonds And Pearls" filler or something.

It's only 25 min. from my house, but I'll still be in school in VA, so. Oh well.

I love Prince. He is easily my favorite male artist, but I'm not really blown away by this track. I was hoping that the album version would change my opinion of the song, but it does nothing for me.

The song isn't bad, it just doesn't grab me. It's a little too ordinary. I wish he would have released something a tad edgier/riskier as the first single.

Prince kept progressing to me as an artist and to me this is more of a regression. He packed up everything that made him Prince and just put out a play it safe song.

I wasn't even aware Prince was releasing new material this year. He has become like the anti-pop star. Maybe it is what he wanted but I sure miss the Prince of the 80's and the 90's (early to mid)

This goes for Urban adds on Tuesday. It's #89 so far, having just broken 100 spins. (103)

This is EXPLODING at Urban AC. I don't even remember the last time I saw a song with such high gains there.

Lets see if prince can explode outside of Urban AC? The song is virtually unlistenable.
