I've been trying to get a copy of this song forever... they've been playing it on WKTU in NYC for a while now.

I first heard Tiffany sing this song on the Doug Banks show a couple of months back. She is a very poweful talent for a 12 year old. Here's a quick drop of trivia: How old was Stacy Lattisaw when she did this song back in 1980?

Stacy Lattisaw turned 14 during the chart run of LMBYA. I remember thinking how cool it was to see her on the chart at the time as she is only 5 days older than me.

You're correct, prenatt1166. She recorded LMBYA in 1979 at the age of 13 and then the following year in November 1980, it was charted. Therefore, Stacy was born the same year as that of you and I. Good job. Our ages sorta gave it away!

Back to tiffany, i think she has a very big voice. In several years she might be the next Whitney Houston. I hope her song does it well in charts.

A voice as strong as that, she could blow Whitney away. Like I said before, she has one hell of a voice for a 12 year old.

I don't think Tiffany is that great. I think she relies way too much on screaming instead of singing. yes, I know that's the thing to do now but if she doesn't get control of that ASAP she may do some damage to her voice...
Just my opinion though.

I take it you have listened to the Star Search performances? Do you know Star Search (or more accurately Star Searching) is now a verb used by American Idol judges to mean cramming your entire personality, all your ability and emotions into just over one minute. She was "belting" because that is what you do on Star Search...but you totally disregarded range and professionalism. You also disregarded control of pitch, superior phrasing and unbelievable breath control which is outstanding in an adult, never mind a child who was 10 at the time. At 12, her talent surpasses so many of the popular singers earning money out there now, and that includes not just the teeny-bopper brigade, but many old pros as well. www.sonymusic.com/audiovideo/ This Christmas medley shows more of her skills that "Let Me Be Your Angel". I would like to see her sing some songs written specifically with her abilities in mind. She is truly a talent amidst a sea of mediocrity.
