Yeah, it's grown on me a little more but I think I was expecting something more audacious and, of course, stronger vocals.

The lyrics are basically describing rough sex. No way in hell would Britney (or any woman) have sung those lyrics unless they were into strap-ons. The song was clearly written for a guy.
ETA-Here's a fan transcription of the lyrics:

Hmmm... I actually like it. His voice isn't too upfront, so I iI'm very happy with the lack screeching. Its generic, and sounds like what a Gaga/Katy Perry duet would be like, but its good. Very nice. I'm happy with it. But...
I still think it will flop. :)

I really, really, love it!! It gets better with every listen. Great lyrics, awesome production...no, it's not the best showcase of Adam's voice, but I like his delivery. Right now, he needs something to get him established at radio and this should do the trick. :)

I bet we all learned our lessons about buying into the hype now. I think the production is fantastic on this track, but what they had Adam do to his voice is a shame.

I guess they could maybe be from a girl's perspective, but honestly, the fact remains that it's a gay man whose admitted he's a top in bed, singing those lyrics. I'm LOLing forever at the thought of Adam singing this song about rough sex on family morning shows.
And my God, what is the music video going to look like? I mean honestly.

I expect he'll be one of those artists whose ballads and midtempos I like more than his uptempos.

Perez Hilton thinks it sounds like Sam Sparro's "Black and Gold." I said that the nanosecond it finished. LOL. Either that pig lurks here or we're both spot on. Don't rule out the former.

I think the lyrics and the video will screw this song over. I can see them trying to go over the top with the video with men and it would be a similar situation to Dirrty by Christina where a video could kill a song. I really like this song so I hope thats not the case.

I don't think he's going to be like, having sex with a man in his video. I just don't think RCA would go for that.

Christina's (great) song collapsed with that video and that was hetero. Considering how conservative the US is, I can't imagine a video with a similar theme expressed homosexually will go over.

Christina was like the virgin Mary before that dirty video come out that's why it was so shocking and it flopped. And that was like 10 years ago.
Adam is a whole different story. Yea, bring tge hot sexy video! :)

The beat, the production, sound like a Britney song. It's so standard. His voice stays within the same few notes for 90% of the song, making the beat the only actual hook, until he starts screaming at the end.
I don't like it at all, but RCA is going to push the crap out of this to get radio play, so I expect it to hit.

What a blatant "Black and Gold" ripoff. I thought I was listening to it as soon as the beat started. I'm not fond of the way he sings it. It's a little 'talky' and there isn't a whole lot of belting which is what I expected from him. It's decent I guess. It doesn't live up to all the hype surrounding him though. Oh, and the lyrics. All that said, this should do pretty well. (Europe would eat this up if they bring him over there)

lol no matter how much you push a song if it's not a hit it's not a hit. And I think this no pushing ... It's a hit! :) Adam Lambert doesn't carry the weight to have a hit with his first single without the label doing its job, regardless of how mega-popular his fans think he is.

Get. IT! Adam. I don't know this Sam Sparro character. Has he released songs in America? I hear Womanizer/I Kissed A Girl/Right Round (since the latter two were done by Dr Luke, it makes sense). I would rather Adam tone down his histrionics and go more pop/radio friendly (which this DEFINITELY is) after an album cover so provocative than come out the gate with a polarizing single with shrieking. Original, no but I don't think they were going for originality with first single. I like the glam-rock stomp production and of course, Adam snuck in his patented shrieks...except they were PERFECTLY placed and didn't linger longer than they needed. PERFECT first single, IMO. Very happy for him and I hope it does well.
