Only 22 "others" this week instead of the usual 23. And I wasn't listening very closely to see if they looped any of the songs. BTW, anyone who hasn't yet heard the show, please listen and tell me when the second Long Distance Dedication? I dozed off soon after the #4 song, but I'm assuming they played "I Want It That Way" after that song, then the LDD of "My Heart Will Go On" and then "Precious And Few" after song #3. I woke up as Casey was intro-ing song #2. Please let me know to see how well my guess was. Thanks.
Interesting choice for the AT10 Spotlight, Diamond LPS (for those who don't know, a "diamond LP" is one that sells at least ten million copies). Casey mentioned that Shania Twain's current album "UP" is a diamond LP as he introed "Forever And For Always" (maybe that's why he only played 22 "other" songs?) And, in the AT10 Archives feature, he played songs from five different decades, which I don't believe has ever happened before.
Disappointing news, as we all feared, as "Drift Away" moves back into the Top Ten via the "vaccuum effect" due to "Unwell" being moved to recurrent. And I have a feeling that song will be around for awhile. It would be so neat if they did something like they did for AT20 during their bried departure from R&R in 2000-2001 and removed all old songs every six months. That way, we'd be able to hear a few fresh new songs, instead of the same ten songs week after week. In this case, at least two songs would fall off the chart (three, if you counted Shania Twain, but I don't believe AT20 ever removed a song from the Top Five). Oh well, at least it's not as bad as AT40, which keeps all recurrents around, regardless of how old they are.
