so weve moved from Britney to Beyonce to Gaga? Britney-huge first week Bee-slow burner Gaga-very consistent if they all released on the same day id give it to Gaga shes got all the momentum now.But last year a similar thing happen when Womanizer released in the UK. that day Womanizer came out as well as If I were a Boy,Keeps getting Better,and a Leona song. Every thought Britney would be #1 but Beyonce was....so you never can tell. Actually, none of them was #1 that week. It was that X-Factor song that was #1 the week all of these songs were released. If I Were A Boy went #1 in its 2nd week I think. And no, not 'everyone' was saying Britney would be #1. In fact, most people (at least on this board) were saying Beyonce would beat down all of the competition, which she did. Plus, the UK vs US iTunes comparison is irrelevant but anw, I agree, you can never tell which big release will end up at #1. |

I really hope britney is #1, but If Gaga goes to many shows will have a lot of Hype with her new single. I just hope the itunes release will be around the end of october. In any case I know that Brit Brit will win over that creature! But I know that Gigi will promote her new single on million shows,like she always does!!! Or she will do some scandal! Who know, maybe this time she will show us 2 pen*s** Maybe then she might be No.1  LOL. Excuse me, but Britney has relied much more on scandals than GaGa has. And the fact that GaGa actually goes on five hundred TV shows to perform and fits in two tours in the same year just proves dedication. You can't hold it against her. |

^ I have to agree with you on one thing and it is her dedication. Even though sometimes I find her a bit annoying, I can't deny the fact that she really has a excellent drive to excel in this industry. I'm not really sure about the scandal part.

I'm not convinced about the If U Seek Amy comparison. I wish and I hope the new song is nothing to do with IUSA. I mean Amy was a good track but it wasn't that great as Max Martin was hyping before the album release.
All the previous songs that Max did for Britney in the past (Baby One More Time, Crazy, Oops..., Stronger, Overprotected, etc.) were way better than IUSA.

I didn't like My Prerogative as a leading single. It was a subpar cover from BB... but I did like MATM. I hope this is good! I didn't buy the GH. MP and DS were not good drivers for me to buy the GH. Now, the DVD and extended CD are really good stuff for me to buy it soon! About the lyrics, please no religious/sex mess!!  I don't mind a song with religious connotation ala Like a Prayer, but done tactfully... I didn't know there were these many people on Pulse with no problem disrespecting religious beliefs  It's fine that everyone has its own religious ideas, but don't think it's aproppriate to make fun of religion, like someone changing the face of Jesus for Britney's. I don't know he/she would feel if I put the face of a nasty whore instead of his/her mother's face. Just saying |

Even pre-breakdown (that is obviously not what I was referring to), Britney was much more of a controversial figure than GaGa is. Don't get me wrong, it's part of the reason why I love Britney so much! But don't go and tell me the bulk of her success wasn't at least partly a byproduct of scandals. |

I love If U Seek Amy, but yes, I'd prefer something edgier and darker but since it's also a Womanizer Pt. 2, I think the results will be very good. At least we know from now that radio will eat it up unless the lyrics are too explicit, which I doubt since Jive wouldn't be that stupid to release it as the only single that will promote an almost d.o.a. album. They know what they're doing. ;)
I have personally loved all of her 1st singles. It took me some time though to get used to Slave but now it's in my top 5 Britney songs.
