Yeah, exactly. It's going for adds on CHR/Rhythmic next week too. I don't like the song all that much, one of my least favourite songs on the album. "All Falls Down" was so much better.

Because "All Falls Down" JUST came out. I'm loving this one right now too. Kanye seems to be on point with all his releases. I know here in Philly Power 99 and 1039 The Beat have been playing this one out for about 5 weeks now. He has to get it while it's hot!

This song has grown on me since I got the album, but it's still not single worthy.

I say service it to radio. Might as well get as many hits as you can while you're Hot!

except (in my opinion) Ja Rule always sucked. he only had one or two good songs and a lot of crappy ones (ie: mesmerize) I think its good that Kanye is putting out another song but I agree that its too soon. and another problem is, we will soon have Kanye overload

This seems to be a new urban trend to just have ten singles out at radio at once. Usher is doing it too.

Really good lyrics, but it's not very radio friendly.

well if you notice, it's happening with songs that radio is already jumping on/people are talking about. "jesus walks" has been on the radio for several weeks at least...
i dont think its the best single from the album but, who knows.

I was like man what is he doing releasing another song with Ashanti on it but to my surprise it was good. If I were Ja Rule I wouldn't ever release a song without Ashanti on it.

What the HELL is this man thinking? This goes for Urban adds next week. Can you say --- sacreligious? Kanye West is putting this song WAY too deep here. I guess this must be the year of Kanye West as we know it.

I don't know, alot of the hype surrounding Kanye seems to have died down considerably.
In January & February it was at a fever pitch, but ever since his album dropped it's pretty much been downhill, hype-wise...
I know All Falls Down has outpeaked Through the Wire on the Hot 100, but you would never know it, I guess just because there isn't the same amount of astronomical hype that there was when 'Wire' was out.

The reason this didn't get many adds is because the adds date was pushed back to May 11.

Am I the only person in this thread that thinks that this is the best song on the album?
I think this is the perfect choice for the next single. I agree that it's being released way too early though.

They seem to be having problems deciding on a video according to a recent MuchMusic TV interview: > BUT I'M JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT I'M GOING TO DO WITH THIS "JESUS WALKS" VIDEO. I'M GOING THROUGH THIS PROBLEM RIGHT NOW. LIKE I WENT TO ABOUT SEVEN OF MY FAVOURITE DIRECTORS, AND THEY SAY, "I LIKE THAT, BUT HOW ABOUT YOU DO THIS?" I'M LIKE, "NO, HOW ABOUT I DO WHAT I WANT TO DO?" SO I'M GOING TO FIGURE OUT SOMETHING. > Amanda: DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH-- 'CAUSE THE SONG "JESUS WALKS," IT'S A GREAT SONG, BUT LIKE YOU SAID, IF YOU TALK ABOUT JESUS, IS YOUR SONG GOING TO GET PLAYED ON THE RADIO? DOES IT WORK THAT WAY WITH THE VIDEOS, AS WELL? > YEAH, VIDEOS, THERE'S A LOT OF STUFF YOU GOTTA TAKE OUT. LIKE I WANTED TO HAVE THIS SCENE WHERE HE ACCIDENTLY KNOCKS OVER AN ASHTRAY AND BURNS DOWN THE CHURCH. THEY'RE LIKE, "YOU CAN'T BURN DOWN A CHURCH!" I'M LIKE, "BUT IT'S AN ACCIDENT." "NO, YOU JUST CAN'T BURN DOWN. AFTER JANET JACKSON, YOU CAN'T BURN ANYTHING." I'M LIKE--- > Amanda: I THINK GOD WOULD UNDERSTAND. > YEAH, DEFINITELY. 'CAUSE I'M TRYING TO GET THIS POINT ACROSS. SO ACTUALLY, WHAT I THINK WE'RE GOING TO DO FOR "JESUS WALKS" IS PAY FOR FIVE DIFFERENT VIDEOS AND JUST DO A DVD BECAUSE EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN TAKE ON IT, AND I DON'T WANT TO TAKE AWAY FROM THEIR IDEA. I'M GOING TO DO LIKE TWO OF MY OWN IDEAS. WE'RE GOING TO TRY AND GET HYPE WILLIAMS, SPIKE JONES, MICHELE GONDRY, CHRIS MILK, MICHAEL HOUSEMAN, HE DID THE "TAKE A BOW" VIDEO FOR MADONNA. It is a good song but her really is releasing his singles a bit too early. I wonder how many he's going to try and release with this album.

KANYE WEST Jesus Walks Producer(s): Kanye West Writer(s): K. West, C. Smith Publisher(s): not listed Label/Catalog Number: Roc-a-Fella/Def Jam 16086 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: June 26, 2004 Kanye West is at the top of the hip-hop game. From producing chart-climbing singles for Twista, Brandy and Slum Village to his own platinum debut, "The College Dropout," West is everywhere. The producer/ rapper aims to continue this trend with his third single. Like "All Falls Down," "Jesus Walks" is not lighthearted fare. On this production, West tackles the issues of social responsibility and religion; consider this his very own call-to-arms anthem. "God show me the way because the devil is trying to break me down," he raps. "The only thing that I pray is that my feet don't fail me now/And I don't think there's nothing I can do now to right my wrongs/I want to talk to God but I'm afraid because we ain't spoke in so long." Despite the single's religious theme—uncommon for R&B/hip-hop radio—the single is steadily climbing the charts. West wins again.—RH

There are apparently 3 different versions of a Jesus Walks video. They filmed the 3rd before Summer Jam according to an MTV article.
