A new track from Melissa Manchester's LP, "When I Look Down That Road" is part of a rather unique marketing strategy. "Where The Truth Lies" is title song to a novel[/b] written by Rupert Holmes ("Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" from 1979). The song was written by Holmes and Manchester. The paperback edition will be released on June 8th with the song sent to some AC and adult standard stations for airplay consideration. Melissa Manchester "Where The Truth Lies" audio sample:)

I was listening to Melissa's biggest CHR hit "You Should Hear How She Talks About You" on a vintage 1982 AT40 yesterday and was wondering whatever happened to Melissa. I don't believe she's had much, if any, action on the charts since that song was out, even the AC charts, on which she's also had success in the past, with big hits like "Midnight Blue", "Fire In The Morning", and, of course, "Don't Cry Out Loud". The computer at which I'm posting doesn't have the option of listening to samples, but I imagine this song is just as good as the songs I've mentioned above, all of which I like a lot.

I had the opportunity to meet Melissa Manchester several weeks ago after a performance. She is an amazing lady. "When I Look Down That Road" may be the best work she has done to date. Hopefully, she will get some recognition at the end of the year.

Melissa could see a big revival at AC thanks to Diana DeGarmo!
