Yes let's leave Britney in her own thread. That being said my first thought of Gaga's AMA performance was "that's gotta be autotuned." I'm glad I'm not the only one that got that impression although I know some people referred to other performances. Gaga has already proven her voice so it really would serve no point to criticize her for using autotune; it's a tool at her disposal and she took advantage of it in this case. True. Plus, its not like its incredibly noticeable. Not like T-Pain style or anything.

Oh yes they play the crap out of it, just like they did with Just Dance and Poker Face. They played LoveGame but not excessively if I recall correctly. I bet they have played this but I haven't heard it cuz I'm cranking the Brittaney Starr whenever I go for a drive.

As Spavin said, leave Monroe and her pathetic posts. Lets move on to the song. Do you think that the power rotation as Az pointed out will continue? In real time it slowed down quite a bit behind TikTok and the irritating Replay song, so just asking.

Brittaney who??
And yeah, I hear GaGa all the time on the radio here. Whether its Paparazzi, Bad Romance, LoveGame or Poker Face. I like never hear Just Dance anymore though. Thank God, cause thats my least favorite single from her. It got old sooo quick.

She said if someone's going to be #1 then they've got to put the work into being #1. I totally respect her for that. Because you look at the industry and you see some artists that are driven and motivated in taking steps to shape their career and others who just sit back and let the producers and the computers do all the work.

By the way do the music video sales count towards digital or they go separate?

If you would have told me mid-2008 that the song would wind up #1 on pop I would have been floored.

Seriously. Not to mention, I don't wanna pay money to see a mime show. I'd rather pay money and see a great show with vocals too. Hearing the emotion and personality put into it makes it soo much better. Its part of the reason Pink, GaGa & Beyonce are my favorites. They give it their all and don't hold back.

There was a poster up at work for tickets to a known lip-synch artist being advertised for $100 each, and my manager saw that and was like, "IS THAT A JOKE?!" People who aren't diehard fans just aren't interested in those kind of shows.

I really don't see her getting another hit after that. I love all of the songs, and Monster or Alejandro would be hits, but I don't see them being as massive as the rest. Hell, I don't think Speechless will go #1 either, but she wants it released, so it will get released.

I haven't heard those songs yet (I've heard Alejandro maybe twice), but I think at this point she has enough momentum to drive anything to the top. Did Gaga write telephone because I heard it was originally not intended to be for her?

Im at NY now for some work and the other day I was at a cafe just waiting for a friend to arrive. I happened to hear some people talking about Britney's Circus tour and how disappointed they were that they wasted their money for seeing a lip-synching. One lady commented that she would rather had that money being used to operate and remove her vocal chords if she can't sing, than waste "my hard-ass earned American dollars on that shit show".... I did all I could to stop myself bursting out.

From what I remember, she wrote it with Darkchild, but since her album was already finished and going to be released soon, she decided to give it a certain blonde popstar who just released an album last year on her birthday. (Don't wanna bring anyone into this thread) She also might have wrote it for said popstar in mind, not 100% sure. I just know she wrote it, and it was going to be done by that other blonde popstar, but it didn't make the cut of that sideshow themed album. So GaGa re-worked it with Beyonce on it.

I'm guessing yes, but I don't follow the Hot 100.

Seems like she might be stuck at #2 with this one. The lead wasn't that big that she will sell 90k more than Jay.

I think this still has a chance. I don't see it dying out anytime soon. Its going to be a battle though, thats for sure.
Also, remember, this has 3 versions on itunes now that TFM has been released.

Do you know where those other versions are charting? Want to know how much the lead is expanding from ESOM

Even if she doesn't get #1 on the Hot 100, I want to see her continue her #1 streak on pop radio. :) I still reckon BR has enough momentum going that 'Telephone' isn't going to put a dent in it. BR may struggle a little once it reaches the top or it may have a slightly easier time since by the time it gets there the threshold for spins up the top end should be reduced after it's been so high for so long.

Its just one is the single, one is from the deluxe edition of the album, and the other is from the standard edition. So they'll be counted as the same thing.

Is Paparazzi being present at the top 10 hurting its momentum in any way?

I hope you're right; I would love to see Gaga get her fifth #1 on pop in a row... wow. That would be amazing. Whether she does it or not, though, her streak she has already attained of four Pop #1s in a row from her debut is phenomenal; without a doubt the most impressive chart feat this year on any chart whatsoever.

No, I don't think so. What I'm kinda surprised about is how BR and TPhone together aren't driving Paps to a -200 daily loss, because while that wouldn't be so good for Paps, it's more room on radio for the other two while minimising over-saturation.

The other 2 versions of BR are at #64 and #69 on itunes. So combined, this is slightly ahead of ESOM. You also have to remember that ESOM has the "clean" version charting too. I'd say if things stay this same, this will sell about 30-40k more than ESOM. But, thats not enough to beat it to #1. She still has more promo this week though, and I don't think Jay does. Jay's will probably start to slow down more so than hers cause most of his was an effect of the AMA's.
