Perez Hilton said Rihanna is performing too. So now we just need Beyonce and Lady gaga, and this is going to be a fantastic lineup!

I can't imagine Lady GaGa and Beyonce not performing. Do either one of them have shows the night of the AMAs? I'm sure we'll be seeing Taylor Swift added at some point as well.

Just call this the AI 2 show. This just highlights how difficult it is for non-AI pop/rock artists to make a dent in the mainstream. Jason Mraz has had a fantastic two years. Where's he when it comes to these award show performances? What about Shinedown? The list is endless.

He performed at Golden Gate Park in SF recently, and they did a live feed of it, and he was (as usual) just so awesome. His live performances are just so damn good, and he really deserves a place here. I don't like Shinedown so much, but I agree--there really should be some variety with these. Still thrilled that Kelly is performing, though ;)

Where's he when it comes to these award show performances? What about Shinedown? The list is endless. They are obviously trying to tie in an American Idol theme into this show for ratings. "Top Selling Idols of All time"? Is that all they are? I mean give me a break. Just like Diva's tried to tie into the AI audience with Paula, Jordan, Kelly and Jennifer. The ratings were poor so now they are going with the "sales" route. They seem a bit desperate with that idol press release, it is extremely over the top. Especially since some of the biggest sellers of the year like Maxwell have YET to be named, if they want big sellers then HE should be added and Pink should as well. Daughtry and Kelly aren't big sellers at the present time. This show needs ratings. NBC has Sunday Night Football, and CBS has the Emmy winning Amazing Race. They are pulling out all the stops with this "Idol" themed press release, no wonder there is desperation in that press release, that's some tough competition.

The whining (and bitterness) over some people being announced to perform while others haven't yet is simply sad. If you really believe that the AMA list of performers is complete obviously you have never watched the show. They haven't begun to fully announce the roster yet so shouldn't complaining be reserved for such a time as we have a full list? You might spare yourself unneccessary angst by exercising some patience.
The rest doesn't deserve response.

Of course Lady Gaga and Beyonce will perform if their schedules allow it. I am sure they will have eminem too and maybe Maxwell or Drake and other big names.
They have only just begun announcing performers.
Kelly, Carrie and Daughtry are all superstars in their own right at this point, and deserve to perform whether they came from American Idol or not. They each had a big year and are doing amazing right now, so I think the American Idol press release thing was not even needed at all.

performers would mostly be: rihanna britney green day(or breaking benjamen) jay-z with or withour alicia gaga 50 cent(maybe because he's got an album coming out) BEP Maxwell
and some others!!eminem will not preform because in an interview he said no shows no tours this year only the voodoo fistvul!!and these i put ther are releasing albums next month and some are not...but i think they want to make a big remix in the preforms!!like BEP then Maxwell, 50 cent then Britney!!

WTF @ Kelly, Carrie & Daughtry. What about JORDIN?! What about her? ? She should perform. She hasn't even gotten to perform at an awards show thanks to her sucky previous management. 'Battlefield' was bigger than all of those 3's previous singles.

MLWSWY was a record breaking smash hit. Pretty sure No Surprise did very well on HAC... ??? I don't know the inner workings of award shows but do artists get invited or does their management have to try to get them on the show?

MLWSWY was like last year (maybe it hasn't been a year, but like the beginning 2009). No Air was also a record breaking smash hit, the biggest selling single ever released by an American Idol contestant. And also, MLWSWY wasn't her previous single... IDNHU was. HAC isn't really a big format like Pop. I'm not sure how it works with award shows, but I think it's both ways.

Pretty sure "Because of You" is the biggest selling single from an American Idol.

LMAO @ your source. You shouldn't say "Biggest selling single ever" and then quote something that only counts US digital sales.
BOY, iirc, has sold around 7 million copies worldwide, and has the title of best selling single from an American Idol to date.

WTF @ Kelly, Carrie & Daughtry. What about JORDIN?! Yeah, Jordan should definitely be performing since they are inviting idols with new albums. But they probably only have so many spaces available and since only the three top sellers and Adam are invited that leaves her out. I don't think her management could have gotten her in. Honestly, If it weren't an Idol themed show the only person who'd make it on to that stage on name alone is Carrie. Kelly (wasn't even nominated) and Daughtry would not be performing were it not for their idol connection and they just happen to be high on the sales list so they got in. Yeah, they've had successful SINGLES but their albums aren't moving much by comparison.

So, Jordin should be performing because Battlefield was a hit? Based on that Kelly has all the right in the world to be performing because mlwswy was a record-breaking #1 hit this year and her current single is doing amazing, it's inside the top 10 in pop radio and climbing on itunes. Kelly's album isn't selling millions like others but Jordin's new album hasn't even reached 200k...

Only in Pulse will album sales be conveniently forgotten and Jordin be more "deserving" to perform than Carrie, Kelly or Daughtry. Those 3 have sold more than 5M+ in album sales, have multiple Platinum selling singles, #1s at their core formats, etc.. I can't believe there are actually people who think that Carrie, Kelly and Daughtry are not deserving of a performance slot. Carrie and Daughtry are both nominated - that alone should make them deserving of a performance slot. Kelly has a huge hit with MLWSWY (IDNHU is not a huge flop by any means and AG is on the rise). I can guarantee that there will be AMA performers who wish they can have half the success Kelly has. Add to that their combined album and singles sales and popularity with the target audience of the AMAs.

I can understand the frustration at Jordin missing out at another award show, but nothing about her 2009 has been bigger or more deserving than Kelly, Carrie or Daughtry. They are bigger stars, all released albums this year, had at least one hit--what exactly about Battlefield's run trumps them so tremendously? Besides, it's not like SOS is a huge success story.

Happy? :) This is a forum with mostly US charts and sales, so I'm not always talking about worldwide sales. Only in Pulse will album sales be conveniently forgotten and Jordin be more "deserving" to perform than Carrie, Kelly or Daughtry. I can guarantee that there will be AMA performers who wish they can have half the success Kelly has. Add to that their combined album and singles sales and popularity with the target audience of the AMAs. Oh yeah, I forgot that they all sold well on their albums that were released several years ago. So, Jordin should be performing because Battlefield was a hit? Based on that Kelly has all the right in the world to be performing because mlwswy was a record-breaking #1 hit this year and her current single is doing amazing, it's inside the top 10 in pop radio and climbing on itunes. I just don't get why they always choose the same old Idols to perform at these things. What did Carrie do in 2009? I don't mean to talk down about any other artist but it's really weird that Jordin has had all this success and hasn't once performed at an awards show.

Then maybe you shouldn't just box them into the Idols category. Yes, they are from American Idol but all three of the artists you've mentioned have moved beyond that.
You have more reason to be confused at J. Lo than those three.

Other artists have been waaay more succesfull than Jordin, I'm a kelly fan and I don't compain about her not being nominated because there were other artists that sold a lot more than her and they deserve to be nominated and perform. Carrie is representing country music, she had 5 #1 hits in country from her last album (which sold 3 million copies) and has a new single out and by the time of the AMA's (nov 22) her third album (highly anticipated) will be out and her new single will probably be #1. So why wouldn't she perform??
