Interesting selection of extras this week. How often do you hear "Use Ta Be My Girl" on AC radio? I heard the song several times recently, but that's only because I have a tape with the song on it. Otherwise, the last time I heard it on the radio was probably when I taped it, which was off of WYSY, a former '70s music station that I listened to all the time ten years ago (and, boy, when they flipped to a Spanish format - well, don't get me started on that...)
I liked the theme of the Spotlight this week, number two hits. I guess if it's ever been the theme for a Rick Dees special, we'll be hearing it on AT10 - well, except for those incredibly stupid specials in which the current chart is just rearranged and Rick calls it "All-Request", but he doesn't fool us! Maybe on the show two weeks from now, Casey will choose hits that mention "Summer" in their title. Or maybe that'll be later in the summer and Casey might do something that focuses on Father's Day, like play songs dedicated to or from Fathers (like "Dance With My Father" and "Butterfly Kisses" and maybe even "The Living Years"). I still have a feeling they'll do Australian acts before long.
As you can see, "Drift Away" moves back up two spots, but at least he didn't push down any songs that are relatively new. Both "Calling All Angels" and "Forever And For Always" have both been out for over a year. True, "Drift Away" has been out for longer, but it's better than "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" or "Love's Divine" being pushed down, as both of those songs debuted on the chart earlier this year.
The Long Distance Dedications were pretty interesting, too, especially "My Immortal", since that song isn't yet on AT10 and probably will not be, as the song has been out for awhile and we all know the story about debuts on AT10!
