"GIVE IT UP TO ME" LYRICS:
TIMBALAND How you doin I'm Mr Mos I'm back Timb are you on it Timb are you on it Give me some Is this what you wanted? Is this what you wanted? Oh LIL WAYNE Uh Wayne's World I'm the cashier I change girls You can go up my crain girl And Imma go down that drain girl Hey ah midnight cowboy My flow's a dog...down boy Hah my girl is a queen And she do what I say and I say what I mean Then I give it to her uncut Shakira, swing those hips like nun chucks Now, give it to me I want the best and the best things in life are free
SHAKIRA You can have it all Anything you want you can make it yours Anything you want in the world Anything you want in the world (Give it up to me)
Nothing too big or small Anything you want you can make it yours Anything you want in the world Anything you want in the world (Give it up to me)
What you get is exactly what you give Never really know until you try We're so ahead of this Got this she wolf appetite that keeps me up all night You know the way it works don't be afraid to ask Aim high when the target is low FYI I am ready to go People say men are just like kids Never saw a kid behave like this
What you give is exactly what you receive So put me in a cage and lock me away and i'll play the games that you want me to play
You can have it all Anything you want you can make it yours Anything you want in the world Anything you want in the world (Give it up to me)
Nothing too big or small Anything you want you can make it yours Anything you want in the world Anything you want in the world (Give it up to me)
Hey can we go by walking Or do you prefer to fly All of the roads are open In your mind In your life Give it up to me
Hey can we go by walking Or do you prefer to fly All of the roads are open In your life In your life Give it up to me
TIMBALAND Hey lil lady What's your plan Say lil mama Come take a ride jump in
SHAKIRA Hey there baby What's on your mind Don't need approval tonight, tonight Give it up
You can have it all Anything you want you can make it yours Anything you want in the world Anything you want in the world (Give it up to me)
Nothing too big or small Anything you want you can make it yours Anything you want in the world Anything you want in the world (Give it up to me)
You can have it all Anything you want you can make it yours Anything you want in the world Anything you want in the world (Give it up to me)
Nothing too big or small Anything you want you can make it yours Anything you want in the world Anything you want in the world (Give it up to me)

I take it the US tracklisting is being revised then? I like this song a lot after three listens, I could just do without the intro and L'il Pain's verse.

Cheap and nasty. I'm really not feeling this. I prefer The Border so much more.
It's just way too much pandering to the US audience and I'm actually quite glad it's not on the international release.
Was this meant to be on Shock Value II?

But in the Shock Value II thread someone said that Shakira's song for Timbaland's album would be called Give It Up To Me. Well we'll see if she ends up being removed from Shock Value II. It's growing on me now. The melody of the chorus gives me that same feeling that HDL did but it has nothing iconic that will make this a classic. No howling. No trumpets. No pan pipes...which makes this sound like it could be by any anonymous Kat Deluna or Nicole Scherzinger. I just hope the video has something spectacular in it.

That's what I was just thinking. Meanwhile, my favourite part is the bridge with those AWESOME latin drums that kinda remind me of the Thunder Mix of 'Ojos Asi'.

this is light years better than DIA .........IMO.... No way. Did It Again is amazing and even though it's produced by the Neptunes it doesn't sound like some generic rnb mush. The chorus of this is good. All this needed was some of the quirky production of The Border and it would've been a Shakira song. It almost gets there in the bridge but not enough to save it. At the moment this just sounds like a means to an end so that Shakira can actually get her album out in the US.

I'm not comparing it to the Border.
All I'm saying is that it has nothing to distinguish this as a Shakira track.
Shakira fans always complain when she works with anyone that makes commercial hits but I never have because for me, she's always made something that could only be Shakira. Even when everyone was screaming "sell out" at Hips Don't Lie, it didn't really bother me because, at the end of the day, only Shakira could've got away with that song and she made it hers.
So the reason I keep mentioning the Border is because even though it's produced by Timbaland, it's still completely a Shakira song because no one else would dare to mix synths, trumpets and electric guitars.
This, however, could be sung by anyone and is so unbelievably SAFE it's unreal. This probably will be a hit but it will never have the same impact as Whenever Wherever and Hips Don't Lie or even She Wolf for that matter, because in 3 months everyone will have forgotten about it.

That's my feeling on it as well. It's too bad she is being so safe with this single. I just hope that she is sings DIA on SNL instead of SW. SW performances have been lame as hell and the song is tired. DIA will be much better promotion for the album. And Lil Wayne is creepy. I hope the video/performances won't feature Shakira pretending to be interested in that creep.

I just hate that this is basically what her American career has come down to-rerecording bland radio friendly songs that any pop chick could sing and slapping on the rapper of the moment. I wish she could be successful here without doing that. That being said I will probably give in to this

Shakira won't get any airplay over here if she doesn't have a popular American featured artist. She Wolf could have probably done better if it had T-Pain from the start. Choosing Lil' Wayne is a good move for her. He doesn't overpower her either on the track with auto-tune or anything. Its just a simple complementary rap.

I think she could've still done it on her own without a rent-a-rapper. But I think 'safe' is what she needs right now to attract buyers for this album, given 'She Wolf' wasn't the runaway smash people were expecting.

This is kind of a mess. The chorus is cool for a bit, but doesn't really seem to go anywhere. Meh, it'll probably grow on me just because I like Shakira, but it's sad that she has to do this to get a hit.

Melodically, this song is weak. It is all style without the substance.
Did It Again is so much better than this disposable song. I am very disappointed she has decided to release this.

^You mean the third US single, or the second worldwide single? Apparently it's the latter, not sure about the former.

sounds alright, nothing special though. timbo has really lost it over the last 12 months or so. he'll needs to re-invent his sound for a third time if he plans to come back big time. this song could've easily been on sv1, no progression whatsoever.
