Heads out the week of November 8 via Billboard. The obvious choice in my mind. The track I always seem to repeat the most when I have the CD playing. If radio has tired of the band just yet, this could be another big hit.

I love Closer as well. But it doesn't seem to have much radio value. Great album track though.

Definitely the correct pick in my mind. How do you expect this to do Artie? As you're such a genius when it comes to predicting Kings of Leon's peak positions.

Woohoo. I wanted either this or "Closer" or the band to just drop off the face of the Earth.

I wonder if this will be the Linkin Park remix? I'd rather hear the original.

They need to go onto permanent hiatus.

It reminds me of this...

Great song. I wish Manhattan would see the light of day but it will remain an AWESOME album track as most of their best songs do (McFearless, anyone?!). Anyway, come on Closer, keep those hits coming!

Manhattan would do well also. Maybe they can stretch this out to six or seven radio hits.

Woohoo. I wanted either this or "Closer" or the band to just drop off the face of the Earth. So you either wanted to hear more or hear less. More "Crawl" or more "Closer" or absolutely nothing else because the rest of the songs on their album bore me to all hell. Especially that song with the cowbell towards the end.

That song is called "I Want You". It actually has a name. Imagine that! Anyway, that song could also be released. Release the whole fucking album. Every song they release does well, for very good reason.

Every song they release does well, for very good reason. As much as I like them, that would only be true if we pretended this was their debut album. Before this album, I heard "Molly's Chambers" a few times on radio, "The Bucket" a reasonable amount, and absolutely nothing from Because of the Times. Nationally, "M's Cs" didn't even hit. That's not exactly a beautiful radio track record.

Because he has a good voice, and people like fads. That's not to say the band is bad, but if you think they will ever release an album remotely close to as popular as this one, you are delusional. And I'm sure there are a lot bands where every song they release does well, and you probably think they suck.
I guess what I'm trying to say in my bitterness is that, while I think Kings of Leon is generally unoffensive, they aren't so incredible as to warrant the success they're having. Muse should have had this kind of success years ago, and they aren't even one of my favorite bands, but I think Muse is more universally well-liked than these guys.

I, for one, am actually relieved that a band can actually emerge from relative obscurity (in terms of radio airplay) and become one of the most successful alt/rock bands in a matter of less than a year. That's something that happened in 1991, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2001, and even 2003. But usually not 2009. Anything they release, at this point, is gravy.

That's not exactly a beautiful radio track record. I should have qualified my statement with a "...from this album". I know of their struggles to get hits and plays from their earlier material. It's a shame that Because Of The Times, which I have reluctantly placed above Only By The Night as my favorite KOL album, didn't have any songs do well.

Good choice. I actually don't want Manhattan released. It's an alright track, but I wanted Closer released so it has to be next since I would expect that the next single will be the final one from this era (assuming this isn't the end of the era).
