Joe- you said you won't post a track list, but do you know the names of the songs on the CD? And if so, how? Did Tony give you a personal listening party? lol

Tonys cd isn't quite ready so it won't be sold tonight at alegria as originally planned. Frenchie is performing tonight though! I was wondering where it was, cuz my friends and I were all looking for it. Frenchie Davis sounded flawless. Very glad to see her doing her thing on the stage. I enjoyed Tony's set. |

yawn Joey- you been \singing that hyperbole for months. I just want to buy the album!!!! not all this pseudo hype and name droppings of songs that (come to find out after talking to Tony), aren't even on the darn album! ha.

Well I could have told u it was major wishful thinking for you to assume Janet Jackson would be on this! In terms of any other tentative track listings....this project has been in the works for two years so of course there have been many changes! A lot of the other songs you mentioned were in a top ten list of tony's from a few years ago in a NYC gay mag I believe? My posting that you're referring to was from over 2 years ago. You sort of took that thread out of context. ha. And if you re-read the posting, you'll see I was asking a question whether those songs may be included, not making a declarative statement.
Your musical announcements (however well-intentioned) seem to not be entirely accurate. I, too, see TM frequently at events (yup I was at Vue last Sunday for the tea dance as well) and take pics and visit for a few moments but don't feel compelled to disseminate misinformation about his future projects (or brag about being in possession of his unreleased remixes).
I believe it's a reasonable request (and not a personal attack) for you to not post misinformation on this music board. Let Tony, his marketing team, and Ms. Razzeto disseminate accurate information regarding his new releases as they become available. Then we can all enjoy the pleasure of purchasing and enjoying these beautiful records without the overshadowing and frustration stemming from inaccurate posts.

If what you're saying is true, it' unfortunate that deborah cooper got replaced (similar to Danielle Bollinger a few years back with Surrender Me).
Is anyone else curious....with all...nah...with the 5 or 6 truly talented female artists in dance music, like Kristine W, why he picked Judy Torres...TWICE(!)...on this record? Obviously Tony's paying homage to the old school when freestyle and Judy were on fire. Judy commented in that 'making of video' that this project was her dream collaboration.
My main (and really only serious) critique of the album is that Niki Richards should have had her own track. like the song Freedom on the Event. That was a stand-out. In my wishful thinking...I was hoping he would have replaced Ultra's vocals with Nicki on "Destination." maybe next week.
nonetheless, the album sounds promising from a quick listen.
I'm with MoranFan (finally)- Tenderness and mAgic are diva-driven tracks. My favs on album.
Everyone, please go out and buy this record and support Tony!

with all of the talented female singers in dance music, like Kristine W, he picked Judy Torres...TWICE(?)...on this record. and I just listened to her tracks. um...it's mystifying. Perhaps paying h ommage to the old school when break beats and Judy were on fire. Judy has had very few releases post Freestyle era. I thought some of her club-oriented stuff toward the earlier part of the 2000's was pretty good. I liked her cover of "Faithfully", and then the other one with a Tony/Warren mix "Hell No". I don't think she is one of the best vocalists out there, but she is a lot better than some of the others. Judy had said in those videos posted earlier that she and Tony had been wanting to do something together for years so now she got to. It actually is a great way to re-introduce her to the Dance world with something really hot. I was hoping she would be on here a little more too, but we get what we get. |

However, I'd like to commiserate one last item-- I was REALLY hoping Tony's remix to Whitney Houston's "I Look To You" was going to be inserted into Magic...somewhere. But it's not. Maybe it will come with a second iteration on Masterbeat. Putting my prayers out there!

Moran Fan- that video gave me chills. thanks for posting! too bad Deborah Cooper's version wasn't maintained. She's really 'feelin' that song.
But Tony does know better (usually). Look at the significant pay-off in replacing Danielle Bollinger's wispy vocals on Surrender Me with Debby Holiday's soulful diva stirrings. Substantial improvement.

A lot of great songs here!!! My fav' are "Magic", "Need Somebody", "Sensation", "La Tortuga", "It Doesn't Get Any Better", "Tenderness" and the new remix of Destination is not bad at all :)
These songs have great potential, can't wait for the FULL CLUB MIX and the remixes!

After having listened to the whole album, I can say I really loved every song. Nothing filler-ish. I wish that the songs were much longer. I really love "Tenderness", "Magic", "Need Somebody", "Fly High", and "Spend My Lifetime Loving You." I have a thing for romantic ballad type songs. I do hope that edition with extended versions comes out soon. I also wish that the original version of "Destination" was included too. Even the Wawa mix would have been okay if a different version were being used.
