Michael jackson- "rock your world" ??? The song went top 5 in 14 countries- top 2 in 8 of those countries. It outperformed "Scream" by a wide margin. Then what? 5 GH sets, no new music, no tours... how can you flop when you're not releasing anything? You judge have his "success" by catalogue sales. His catalogiue sales were great. When he finally decided out to tour, it sold out. Sooo... ???

Meet Me Halfway (and I think somebody mentioned Russian Roulette) are not killing momentum in any way shape or form.

I Want To Know What Love is - Mariah Carey Somebody had to say it! Except that song didn't kill much momentum at all. "Obsessed" was like a cast on a broken leg, and "I Want To Know What Love Is" took a steel bat to that leg. Touch My Body/Bye Bye would be better answers for Mariah. Perfect description!

Ummm...no. She went from consistent Top 10s to not standing a chance, and it all started with "I'm Glad".

For the era it came from (I'm assuming it's the Circus one since it was also on the Blackout album), it was pretty much the end of it. I think that another single would have performed better then they could have released "Radar" at the end of the era.

In terms of killing the era:
The All-American Rejects - The Wind Blows Metro Station - Seventeen Forever Britney Spears - Outrageous Boys Like Girls - Hero/Heroine Leona Lewis - I Will Be Sara Barellies - Bottle It Up Natasha Bendingfield - Angel Kanye West - Paranoid Flo-Rida - Sugar
I can't really think of any that killed someone's entire career right now.

^ There is one, Rurry.
Ciara- "Can't Leave 'Em Alone." It killed the era and everything that came after. I swear, Fiddy gave her the kiss of death. And what was up with that shirtless scene, with her boobs pressed against his chest. Gross.

Jumpsuit - Twenty One Pilots
Had the rollout for that album been better, I honestly think that TOP would have been the biggest band in the world (bigger than ID and M5) until the George Floyd protests

And I - Ciara
Definitely ended her streak of successful singles from the Goodies era.
Goodies #1 1,2 Step #2 Oh #2
Whatever U Want - Christina Milian
Wasn't hugely successful as Dip It Low and pretty much ended "It's About Time".
Fallen - Mya
As much as I love this song, it never cracked within the top 40, which ended in her not releasing any more singles from "Moodring". Same thing with "Free" from "Fear of Flying".

River is the best recent example, but tbh I'm not sure there's anything on ESV that wouldn't have been swallowed by Flowers.
