Now I've heard two more songs of hers, "Love" and "Get Up". Both of these are terrible. I hope these don't make her album. I don't think "Get Up" is supposed to anyway, but "Love" has some of the worst vocals I've ever heard. Unless he wants to market this as a comedy album, she needs to axe that song. "Love" is on the album advance and was actually going to be pushed as the first single! :o There were promos for it pressed and everything. I agree it's awful, thank God they sent her back to the studio. "Get Up" is from the soundtrack to Biker Boyz, so I don't think it'll be on the album.

They said it because of this. that's wild. someone out there really thinks this girl can make it, b/c they're taking the time to get her started off... i agree, she can make it.

Her album's out in two weeks and this is still outside the Top 40 with a below 100 bullet. This deserves to catch on, but it's not looking good.

Her album's out in two weeks and this is still outside the Top 40 with a below 100 bullet. This deserves to catch on, but it's not looking good. They've pushed her back to first quarter 2005. Which is actually good, it means they're still not giving up, which they shouldn't. She's a good singer with good material, they've done all the right moves except promotion. This song still hasn't lost spins, it's currently +12 though at Urban and +2 at rhythmic. fortunately, i've heard several of the tracks and she has even better single material. i'm still hoping she makes it.

This is quite good, and I actually believe this will be a slow burner.

I actually believe this will be a slow burner. I think and hope you're right. I hope my original prediction of "another flop" will be proven wrong.

this actually has been making very small gains the last few months, there was a big audience jump this week from 9 mill to 15 mill, with a bigger spin gain at Rhythmic. and BET started playing the video a bit in the last 3 weeks... this song should be top 5 by now, but oh well... they pushed the album way back, i think they were planning on releasing a different single, but instead this one is slowly climbing

The rap is awful. I'm cool with the Keyshia/Kanye version, thanks.

This song broke through to finally get on 106 & Park a couple of weeks ago, though I'm not sure how it's faired since. It's had a small bullet for a while now, though today it's at -2.

the history of this song screams "good song with no hype/support"! I don't know, from what I could tell it was worked fairly decently. It just couldn't get off the ground. :(

bad timing for a new artist that doesnt have an instantly catchy song.

Casual NYC radio listeners must be under the impression that this is one of the year's biggest hits though!

No, I think it was Kanye backlash. None of his productions go anywhere lately. I dont think so though, I mean aside from "hardcore" music fans such as people like us on the internet, did casual listeners REALLY associate the song with Kanye? If you are just hearing the song on the radio, the average person would not know Kanye had anything to do with it. Unless you are arguing that radio stations weren't playing it much because Kanye is played out at this point. Possibly, but still...he isn't an integral enough or audible enough part of the song. I mean you can still like the song and hate him, and tolerate listening to it because you virtually don't hear him on it.

that puzzles me. I thought normally if BIG stations in big areas started playing a song, smaller stations followed? Not always. NYC Urban stations have always liked to pick a few songs each year to turn into "local" hits so to speak. Sometimes even big hits everywhere are even bigger hits in NYC... what I mean is for example, "I Care 4 U" by Aaliyah was a pretty big national hit at Urban, but nowhere was it as big as it was in NYC. NYC radio likes having its own identity.

He was all over the video. I just can't think of any other reason why great songs from him like "I Want You", "Talk About Our Love", "Bullseye" and this are all bombing.

That's true, and it is a possibility. I just think that sometimes alot of people who are familiar with a song from the radio have never seen the video for it, but hey
