I find this rollout to be just endlessly fascinating. WWFM has had a total of 67 spins today, according to Real Time. Of those, approximately 40 or so were from OHP (where he did an interview), 5 were from Z100 (where he did an interview), 2 were from WPLJ (where he did an interview), and 2 were from KIIS (where he debuted FYE last month and where he interviewed post-AMAs). So, about 49 of 67 spins---or 73% of his spins today---are from the four stations or shows where he did interviews. Haven't run the numbers, but yesterday appears on a brief review to be pretty similar.
Don't get me wrong---I have no problem with stations or shows spinning an artist who takes the time to call in. Actually, I'd be annoyed if any of my favorite artists wasted valuable time speaking with a radio station and the station didn't spin his/her/their song. That said, is it unusual for such a large percentage of spins to be from stations/shows where an artist has done interviews?

well, think about it ... maybe he called in at those stations because they are spinning him ... :)

The situation IS fascinating. Adam's getting almost as many spins on 4 stations as he was getting on the 18 that added FYE. Somehow WWFM has shot up to #22 on Z100's playlist in a week. That's insane, especially considering they wouldn't even give FYE the time of day. I think they spun it once in the entire month it was out.
Very interesting. This rollout is so different from anything I've ever seen before. I hope it works out for him WWFM seems to be doing well so far.
RCA usually isn't one to dole out 2nd singles like candy, but they're pushing this one hard. I can't wait to see what the adds situation looks like this week.

Cascada is on power on Z100 and it's not even top 15 on the CHR chart ... they were playing Pink's "U + Ur Hand" before any other station had the balls to touch that song after "Who knew" flopped the first time ... they re-added "Who knew" FIRST ... that's z100 ... and that's why i love them :)

Also noteworthy - on the international versions of Adam's album, "For Your Entertainment" is on the sticker, and not "Whataya Want From Me." If RCA is smart, they'll keep FYE as Adam's international single, and for the love of all things holy, I hope Adam has the good sense to lipsync FYE everytime he has to perform it from here on out. Holy moly. That song is just a bitch to sing live. He sounds great on WWFM and Music Again, but FYE? Not really.

Awesome. I think WWFM has already out-peaked FYE without even really trying, or even having an adds date.
Did this thing even have an adds date? Some said it was last week, but I haven't found that online anywhere

Oh ok cool. It still outpeaked FYE with like, 4 stations playing this...in one week. That will never stop being funny to me.

He better not lip-synch. He came from a show where live vocals determine a lot, lip-synching would be a major slap in the face. MLWSWY and CC are both difficult songs to sing live, yet Kelly and Carrie sing live, right?

I think they realized quickly that FYE was a huge flop. Getting OHP and Z100 on board quickly was smart.

Kelly and Carrie are not electro-pop artists. Adam is. Even GaGa lipped Bad Romance at the AMA's, and she can sing really well. The only part of Bad Romance that she actually sung live were parts of the verses, and if you ever watch her European performances, she almost always lipsyncs unless she's doing the acoustic Poker Face or SOMETIMES "Just Dance" she'll do live in Europe.
I certainly hope so. His album is stellar.

I just read that he's doing Music Again and Strut on Ellen? Can anybody confirm? Because seriously, as you all have said, this roll-out is just odd if true.

No, that's wrong. Monte was replying to a Tweeter that asked him what his favorite songs to play are.

^If that's true...eeek. Those songs are some of the weakest on the album.
I wonder if Adam will start shooting another video again soon. The FYE video is basically useless now. I'm not even sure they sent that video to VH1 or MTV.
And I wonder if this song will pick up again after the holiday freeze.

See my post above. Strut and Music Again are Monte Pittman's favorite songs to play the guitar on. They're not what Adam's doing on Ellen (at least they haven't told us what they're doing yet).

He should sing WWFM. If he wants to sing a faster song, he should go with Fever (although the lyrics are a little risque). All the other faster songs on his album are too generic, IMO.

RCA usually isn't one to dole out 2nd singles like candy, but they're pushing this one hard. Well they've never had an Idol single they tried to push flame out as badly as FYE did. I don't see that they had any choice. Besides the stations mentioned above, who has added this?

Another Big Daddy on board this morning ... KHKS in Dallas! KHKS already started playing this few days ago. I don't know where you are looking but all eight Top 40 stations that played it today have done so before. Good to know my eyes weren't deceiving me.

KHKS gave it a few "test" spins last week but today it's the first time they have it on regular rotation. It should have around 30-35 spins from them by the end of the week. And a big fat AI increase too.

Interestingly enough, the "fat" update didn't come. Did this song get played less on stations or was it played 3 times on OHP last week meaning the spins didn't help today's increase? ???
