Yeah there will be at least two more days with great updates. :) Having passed Muse, this is now safely in the top 50. With three songs purged at the end of the week, I can see this end up at about #43 on Sunday, maybe higher if it takes off even faster. I think he will also pass Down With Webster today too. There are already only 16 spins in RT between them..

I'm so glad to see this song moving up, he's very talented and I hope he gets some presence on radio. This song wasn't really on my radar, I really thought this was just him singing a Pink song, its juts so her lol. But his live performances has really won me over.

I sincerely hope Elisabeth "Palin-lite" Hasselback picks a fight with Adam. Like her idol Sarah, she is an absolute idiot so it is a fight Adam could certainly win and garner him some much-needed positive publicity.

Although I really don't like Hasselback at all, I hardly think a fight, (win or lose) would garner Adam any positive publicity. I think at this point Adam needs to limit the time he spends talking about the AMA's and the controversy, and focus on promoting his music. The public won't start to get over it until he has.

I think Adam has some sort of weird difference between camera interviews and written interviews, perhaps unconsciously. All the negative things he's said about Gene Simmons, the performance at the AMAs and similar have been off-camera. Whenever there's a camera involved, he suddenly turns extremely humble, almost knowing that statements made on TV make far more powerful statements than in written interviews. Guess it's still part of being new in this level of the business, being just a bit intimidated by the camera.
(Or I'm just observing something that isn't there.)

I think he has been assertive on TV too. i.e. the AH interview after AMA and a few others I recall. I am going to guess it is driven by the type of question he's asked and the rapport he has with the interviewer. Interviewers tend to be less aggressive and provoking on tv than in print.

The thought of Elisabeth Hasselbeck "going in for the kill" is highly entertaining. Good luck on that. She'll just end up looking like an idiot as usual if she tries to attack Adam. LOL.

What the hell? Elisabeth does not pick "nasty, public" fights with guests- she might make a comment that is counter to them, that's all. And who said Adam's segment on Walter's special was INSTEAD of Taylor Swift? There could be many reasons for the pick.

He was already supposed to be in this special before the AMA's performance and it wasn't his decision to participate instead of Taylor but Barbara's so who cares? I care more that he still has only 3 top 40 adds so far this week personally..

Oh wow I didn't realize that commercial success now = being a fascinating person We might as well just call Celine Dion this century's Ben Franklin She appeals to a crapload of people, and has conquered multiple genres. How is appealing to that many people, in an age of declining album sales, not fascinating? Why is there Taylor-mania going on? She's not vocally blessed, and her songs aren't the most brilliant in the world, yet nearly 5 million people picked up her album in the span of a year. Certainly that's more fascinating than a guy whose only accomplishments are being on American Idol and doing a stage production on the AMAs that reminded me that I saw better entertainment on the streets of San Francisco during gay pride week. Oh, and he's made an album... as have hundreds of other artists this year. I just don't see how Adam is more fascinating than the girl who has probably had the best year out of anybody in entertainment. And, like I said, I'm not even a Taylor Swift fan. But I can recognize that what she's accomplished, and the empire she's built for herself, dwarfs whatever controversy Adam Lambert has going on this week. Swiffer is the musical equivalent of a dinner roll. Everyone will have one of her because she's safe and agreeable to a large swath of people who cannot stomach too much else. But there truly isn't much "fascinating" about her. People like her because of her perceived normalcy and relate to her simple but respectable music. Compared to her, Adam is a scorpion kebab and someone like Lady GaGa would be a Japanese puffer fish dinner. They are certainly not meals everyone will partake in but they make for a better conversation than a piece of bread. It's no surprise that Barbara didn't find Taylor more fascinating than Adam and, apparently, neither do you since you seem exponentially more interested in discussing any and everything about Lambert compared to Swiffer. Fascinating!

^^ Probably because Lambert was on American Idol and since I watch the show I discuss how the contestants do afterward. It's interesting. But it's not because he's Adam Lambert... it's because he was on a TV show. Plus, this is a website that tracks sales and spins--Taylor has no problem in that area hence there is less to discuss on that subject. Adam does have issues, so there is more to discuss. But again, that has nothing to do with him, personally, being "fascinating." One raunchy performance does not make you fascinating. Actually, I disagree with a lot of Barbara's picks this year. Kate Gosslin? Sarah Palin? Jenny Sanford (the wife of some Senator that cheated on her)? Apparently she's into tabloid more than real news this year.
You can think what you want about Taylor Swift (and make up lame-ass nicknames for her too), but it won't change my mind that Barbara Walters made a dumbass decision.

I respect your opinion that Taylor Swift is fascinating, but I also find Adam's story to be quite fascinating. 8 years ago, he was a shy pudgy blonde kid who moved to LA to become a star, ended up radically changing his entire look, embraced his sexuality in the most extreme ways possible, performed small clubs, cabarets and drag shows for years, landed a role in Wicked, then at 27 finally got his big break by essentially winning the biggest talent show in the country and launching the first truly openly gay male pop career. I think that's a pretty fascinating story, and his career has barely begun.

ETA: And being part of the 10 Most Fascinating People, I just find it just fitting (and amusing) that he's as fascinating as Kate Gosselin, Jenny Sanford and Sarah Palin. Awesome.

Barbara didn't pick him because of the AMA performance. She realized he was an even bigger draw after the AMAs, but she still had chosen him before that. Maybe you don't know enough about Adam, but compared to Taylor Swift...his life is much more fascinating IMO.

They said "essentially" as in a lot of people think Adam won, and it's almost like he did. And about your ETA, I don't like any of those people, but I do think they have a lot to talk about. Although Kate Gosselin should just stop talking.

And I do know about Adam's life--and there are better stories out there than pudgy kid realizes he's gay, loses weight, dyes his hair and goes on a reality show. If you want me to drop the Taylor Swift thing, fine--but I'm not going to suddenly believe that Adam is one of this year's most fascinating people. IMO, he's just not. Barbara probably thought, at the time, that he was a ratings winner (I guess AMAs thought the same thing). But really, he's not any more of a ratings winner than any other artist.

Cumulus didn't add anything this week. :( At least they didn't add anyone else instead of him, but yeah, that sucks. He had 9 adds overall, 6 from new stations. I hope they (and OHP) play him enough to keep him in positive updates throughout the week and bring him closer to the top 40.

WWFM is the top hot peak of a PD in WSTR this week in AllAccess.. why are they recommending this song when they themselves have not added it? ??? Or do they finally plan to add it?

I would love to see this reaching top 10, and yes, there are definitely stations that are holding out currently. KQCH in Omaha for example gave it 9 spins last week, 8 spins this week, chose not to add him twice already, and spinned WWFM 3 times in the last two days. Anyhow, good update today. He's now top 50 also in Hot AC.
