Adam at the round table with The View ladies will be to-die-for I can only imagine what's Elisabeth's gonna say/do And I love this song! I thought FYE was ok, but this is hot! Not sure if it will be a huge smash, but it doesn't make me like it any less :)

I'm surprised at how fast this is moving. Can't wait to see what he does for SYTYCD and The View. Joy Behar wanted him to do FYE so she could "see it up close." :( Love that woman. I'm not. It's kind of obvious RCA put every single thing it had into pushing this to radio so it could get to top 40 before the freeze. Plus, it sounds exactly like Pink, save the fact that it's not sung by Pink. But you just replace Pink's voice for Adam's (since he's not really straying outside the confines of how she would sing it), and you've got a Pink single. Pink does well on CHR. I can't stand the women of The View, especially Joy Behar. She doesn't seem to pay attention to the guests half the time, and thus makes dumb jokes based on what she misheard. Although I've got no love for Barbara Walters herself--she's a hack reporter that basically schmoozed her way to the top. And, IMO, the reason Adam gets to perform on The View is because Barbara Walters used her influence to get ABC to bend. She wants to promote her 10 Most Overexposed Fascinating People special, and she's probably the only news/talk show person who has the weight to overrule whatever top ABC exec is hating on Adam right now. And he still has to pre-record his performance. I still can't believe she picked Adam over Taylor Swift. I mean... seriously. lol.

It's not moving fast enough, I want to see it in the top 40 already.. Apart from The View and SYTYCD, he also has performances on Conan and Leno in the next couple of weeks. I hope WWFM enters the Itunes top 100 after those performances, especially after SYTYCD.

Why am I getting Deja-Vu of the David Cook thead of last year? hmmm Hopefully the promo helps at Itunes. I like him, Kris, and Alision and want all 3 to succeed.

1. FYE 2. WWFM 3. If I Had You 4. Sleepwalker If WWFM does well then IIHY and Sleepwalker are the obvious next choices, IMO. I don't hear any other CHR hits on FYE other than those but he has a handful of good tracks that would be a bit off-kilter for radio but make decent artistic statements like "Soaked," "Music Again," "Pick U Up" (killer vocal!), "Fever" or "A Loaded Smile." I can also see "Aftermath" as a both a single and the Idol castoff song. Part of me also wants "Strut" released because I think it would make a fagulous video. I envision a fashion runway video that's George Michael's "Too Funky" meets En Vogue's "Free Your Mind" meets a hit of ecstasy. I envision him doing the 'strut' in next year's victoria secret show with the angles flowing down the run way. (salivating...)

Cook's journey and Adam's journey thus far are completely different. I don't recall Cook having a problem with a particular network, either. If you mean because I'm not a Cook fan and I commented in Cook's thread, then *shrug* I don't care. I comment in Nick Jonas's thread too and I think he sounds like a screeching howler monkey.

Trailer Swiffer is about as fascinating as a bowl of oatmeal so I can believe it. The girl who took both pop and country by storm, writes all her own music, sold a TON of albums and won almost every award in the book, at such a young age, is less fascinating than the guy who came from American Idol, has barely any presence on radio and has only had an album out for 2 weeks? Barbara made her decision before the AMA performance, too. I'm not a huge Taylor Swift fan, but IMO, that's just dumb.

It doesn't seem to even matter how good this performs- no matter, people will come in and say RCA bought it or the promotion guaranteed it regardless of who sang, etc. etc.

Trailer's music is decent and she's obviously been very successful but the girl is about as boring as dish soap. I can understand Barbara not wanting to dedicate a segment to her.

I said they pushed this hard, and that is obvious. KIIS and Z100 don't add something the same week like they did, with barely any notice, coming off a flop single that was dropped by the label last minute, and not get something in return from the label. That's the way it rolls. Not like other singles from other artists haven't gotten the same treatment when their labels are equally as pushy. I recall "The Climb" getting added to nearly every big station right away, even though Miley's previous single was a total flop. It was a slow ballad--completely different than what was charting on CHR at the time--and it was pretty clear Hollywood was pushing really, really hard for that song. Miley started showing up at tons of different radio station appearances. Hollywood was pushing the song quickly to coincide with the Hannah Montana movie release. I don't remember a whole lot of people getting upset at the idea that The Climb was shooting up quickly due to modified payola (i.e., not monetary based, but legal). In fact, most people seemed to accept it. So why is it so hard to accept that RCA is actually doing the same thing? They got in trouble when FYE didn't take off; they were running out of time before the holiday freeze, and they needed to do something quick. If they *didn't* institute a hard push for this single then I would think they were total dumbasses.

They never should have released FYE in the first place.. I'm a fan and there are two songs in the album that I always skip, FYE and A Loaded Smile, most of the songs in the album are better than FYE..

Taylor Swift...bleh I'm going to the z100 Jingle Ball on Friday and I think I'll go to the bathroom when she performs. She's awful live... I used to like her, but now all her songs sound the same, and they're about her tons of troubled relationships.

+31 in RT now.
He's going to get nice updates on Wednesday and perhaps Thursday too because it took time for the new stations to start playing him last week, but he needs a strong adds week tomorrow to continue to increase afterwards..

You do know every single song that is released off a major record label receives some type of promo push at radio right? Record labels tend to have a whole department who's sole purpose is to get its artist singles played on the radio. This is not a new tactic in which Adam is the sole beneficiary lol. Anyways....I like that this is climbing at hot ac at almost the same pace as pop...it would be nice to have two formats jump on this in the new year.

^^ I'd like to know when I ever said Adam was the "sole beneficiary." In fact, if you read my post, you'll see that I said the exact opposite. lol. But there are different levels of push by a label. Because pushing a song to radio isn't free--it actually costs money because it costs the time of label employees and often the time of the artist or another artist on the label. The label promises things to certain radio stations. On the flip-side you can tell when a label just throws a single out to sink or swim (see: Jordin Spark's "SOS"). It amazes me that people get so touchy about this subject.
If it makes you feel better, a single can get a huge push from a label and still only receive middling success because it doesn't test well. So if WWFM is a big hit, part of it should be based on decent callout. But, sorry, this initial spurt of immediate growth was mostly RCA. Even an RCA crony admitted on Adam's official website that radio stations won't even begin callout surveys on the song until it gets played a certain number of times. So for most stations, they're adding it based on either an agreement with RCA, or on faith because a Big Daddy has added it.

This is such a strong single. Glad they didn't waste time to send it on the radio.

Oh wow I didn't realize that commercial success now = being a fascinating person We might as well just call Celine Dion this century's Ben Franklin She appeals to a crapload of people, and has conquered multiple genres. How is appealing to that many people, in an age of declining album sales, not fascinating? Why is there Taylor-mania going on? She's not vocally blessed, and her songs aren't the most brilliant in the world, yet nearly 5 million people picked up her album in the span of a year. Certainly that's more fascinating than a guy whose only accomplishments are being on American Idol and doing a stage production on the AMAs that reminded me that I saw better entertainment on the streets of San Francisco during gay pride week. Oh, and he's made an album... as have hundreds of other artists this year. I just don't see how Adam is more fascinating than the girl who has probably had the best year out of anybody in entertainment. And, like I said, I'm not even a Taylor Swift fan. But I can recognize that what she's accomplished, and the empire she's built for herself, dwarfs whatever controversy Adam Lambert has going on this week.

Unsourced gossip. I'll be surprised if there is much (if any) drama that day. At least revolving around Adam Lambert.

Elisabeth is known for picking very public, nasty fights with guests. I mean hell, she did it last week to Portia DiRossi. It's not like this is some new concept for Elisabeth. It's why she's still there on that show, honestly.
However, I will say that Elisabeth is an idiot and Adam I'm sure can more than hold his own against her.

Adam doesn't need more controversy. I doubt 19E/RCA wish controversy, or ABC, and given his recent statements he seems to be adopting a similiar attitude.
Elizabeth "play acts" the role of an antagonist. I don't believe the parties involved here on either side will see benefit to her and Adam staging a fight at this time. At best, imo, it's an attempt at luring viewers expecting a fight but I doubt there will be one.
It'll probably instead be used as a vehicle to give Adam a second "first introduction" if you will. A "do over". Obviously without the ratings showcase of the AMA's. Expect a less heated discussion, clean performance, and everyone moves forward.
If I'm wrong, well, expect more focus to remain on his "celebrity" then on his music and that will continue to distract from attempts to develop a successful singing career.

^ Yep, WWFM got 84 spins yesterday compared to 75 on Friday with pretty much the same stations. It will get a good update today too, but it needs a good adds week. 3 Top 40 adds so far.

Yeah there will be at least two more days with great updates. :) Having passed Muse, this is now safely in the top 50. With three songs purged at the end of the week, I can see this end up at about #43 on Sunday, maybe higher if it takes off even faster.
