I know there is a thread on this in the music news section but this has now been confirmed as her official 1st single(huge mistake) from her upcoming album. She was on the MTV Backstage thing where they are showing her recording her album and listening to a few of the songs.
Any predictions?
I think the song is just a mess. i think it will flop and so will her album. It could be the beginning of the end for her. None of the tracks they previwed (which was about 3 so far) sound promosing.

Top 5! This song is hot. As EDF85 would say, "Just in time for back-to-school!"

I reserve judgement until I've heard a decent version of it

I'm nowhere near an Ashanti fan. She can't sing, but this track will probably be nice in the club. I guess this is her attempt at a more mature sound.

It's too much for Pop radio but I think it will probably succeed on Rhy and Urban, due to her name alone and also coming off the Top 10 showing on both formats for "Southside"

I was fully expecting to hate it, but it has a decent retro disco vibe that I like. I think it definitely could grow on me.

I wonder what's gonna happen with this single. Her album has been scheduled for November 16, so either the single is being switched or it has been pushed back. I think pushing it back is a bad idea. Move on. Hot 97 and other big stations have already played it out.
I don't like how Ashanti has 3 singles out now, 2 of them being with Ja Rule. No no. Ja Rule killed "Turn It Up" before it even got started.

i guess no1 believes in taking breaks anymore? guess that why now a days people only last 3 or 4 albums because they come out every year, over expose themselves and people stop caring them. THen its on to the next. Its like these people have never heard of ANTICIPATION. 3 or 4 years in betweeen a Janet album and u get anxious. 1 year between an Ashanti album and you get bored It saddens me because there will be no more long lasting superstars like Janet, Madona, Michael, ect. everyone will wear out their 15 minutes of fame in 5 years or less and 3 albums.

#1 CHR/Pop #1 CHR/Rhythmic #1 Urban #1 Hot 100 LOL And I also love how people predict songs peaking below #50 on the pop chart... I know it is extremely logical, but it just seems so funny...

I don't think that the industry is the same as it was back then. Give an artist three of four years these days and they will be forgotten about. I'm not sure if Ashanti is seeking longevity so they are probably milkin it as much as possible and strickin the iron while it's somewhat hot. Do you think that most artists should wait 3 and 4 years inbetween albums?

Do you think that most artists should wait 3 and 4 years inbetween albums? if you want a long career then yes. If u want to bore people after 4 albums abck to back then no.
