A nice rocker from a band I've never heard of before. This could do some nice chart damage.

This band has 3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell in the lineup.

And guitarist Kenny Olson of Kid Rock's Twisted Brown Tucker band, still not sure that makes me interested in hearing this.

Creeping into the top 50 on Mainstream. Not too awful for a song based on Boyz II Men.

::sighs:: This reminded me, I actually bought a cassette tape (YES! Remember those?!?!) of Boyz II Men's "II" album when I was in um... 5th grade, which I guess was in either '94 or '95. Along with that I also remember buying Hootie & the Blowfish's "Cracked Rear View," and either Green Day's "Dookie" or The Offspring's "Smash." Ah, the wonderful things you would do when you're young and would listen to anything shown on MTV. Oy vey. I actually remember buying Salt N' Pepa's "very Unnecessary" as well. Thank god rock music has saved me!!!

I only meant he sings the Boyz II Men chorus in this song. That's at least a nod to the band.

And I also bought II. (As well as Cracked Rear View, Dookie, and Smash. I meant to get Very Necessary for the longest time, since "Shoop" was fantastic and "Whatta Man" was pretty sharp as well, but for some reason I never got around to it.) "End of the Road" and "I'll Make Love to You" were two of the finest R&B songs of the '90s. "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye," "Motownphilly," "On Bended Knee," and "Water Runs Dry" were no slouches, either.

To add to my list of albums I can't believe I bought back then were Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Doggystyle" (imagine what my parents thought of their ten year old listening to that lol) and Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It."

I don't see why you're embarassed about any of this.

I don't see why you're embarassed about any of this. I wouldn't say I'm embarrassed exactly. It's understandable that people's music tastes change or whatnot, and I'd assume most people are open to things when they're just getting into music and figuring out what suits them best. It's more that if I listened to any of the albums I listed today (besides "Smash" & "Dookie" and maybe "Cracked Rear View"), I'd think "What in god's name was wrong with me back then? This stuff is HORRIBLE!"

Am I wrong to think that's kind of a shame?
I mean, I don't listen to Boyz II Men anymore either, and probably if I heard it somewhere public I'd on the outside project a grimace of absolute distaste, but I also know deep inside, in my secret unseen heart, I'd be going "Yeeee!"

I like that you'd admit that, lol I've always been a fan of music in general. It's only really been in the last five to ten years that I've grown a great distaste for most pop music. Boyz II Men will always be a favorite of mine in a nostalgic way. Being that I've DJ'ed for since I was in grade nine...which is longer than some of you have been alive unfortunately, I still admit to really liking some dance music but it's mostly Euro stuff and not the necessarily the overly generic stuff I find that comes out of the US. I still miss groups like Snap, Black Box and 2 Unlimited. I still haven't heard this song. I'm not sure I'll even bother searching it out but maybe I will just because of this thread.

Yeah, if you want your ears to bleed from the quality! Best Buy has the CD for $3.99, where I was lucky enough to find it. End Of The Road fits in nicely if you like heavy southern rock. Very much in the Twisted Brown Trucker / 3 Doors Down rhythm and riffs obviously. This should slowly become a big top ten hit.

First of all It's the official quality version. You go ahead and buy the exact same quality version from itunes if you want. And secondly, this will get nowhere near the top 10. I can see why Active Rock stations would play this. Heavy-ish guitar track with a cock rock swagger, but this will not get close to approaching the high positions on Active.

Well, I'm guessing it's an .mp3 file, which is nowhere near CD quality. And you have no idea how well this will do. Nobody does. But it should do well compared to what's out there.

Artie I don't know if you have super hearing or what but I've listened to music a long time and I find mp3 files that are easily as good as the CD's. Yes, there are lots of crappy quality versions of every song kicking around but that's not every one. I'm not trying to pick a fight with you on this, I'm just guessing you've never bothered to hear the higher quality versions.
Now that I've heard it I'll say it's not too bad, it definitely reminds me of early 3 Doors Down, which is probably what I like most about it.

Well, technically CD quality is very seldom carried out in mp3 format, but it can often be so close that it's nearly impossible to tell a difference.

I still miss groups like Snap, Black Box and 2 Unlimited. That is good s**t right there. I'll admit I am a complete sucker for 90s dance songs. Along with all the rock albums and mixes I have, I do have a dance mix thrown in there that occasionally I love to listen to. I should probably make another mix since I'm sure there's more songs from that era that I haven't heard in 15-20 years and wouldn't remember them unless I heard them again.

To add to my list of albums I can't believe I bought back then were Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Doggystyle" (imagine what my parents thought of their ten year old listening to that lol) and Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It." While I'm sure that Montell Jordan's album was mostly filler, Doggystyle is pretty much a unanimous classic hip hop album, much in the way that Smash and Dookie are classic punk albums. I was 12 when Doggystyle came out, but I didn't dare try to buy it and sneak it into the house (along with Dr. Dre's Chronic a month or two earlier) until I was 14. I probably still listen to that more than I pull Smash and Dookie back out to listen to. I mean, I don't listen to Boyz II Men anymore either, and probably if I heard it somewhere public I'd on the outside project a grimace of absolute distaste, but I also know deep inside, in my secret unseen heart, I'd be going "Yeeee!" Am I wrong to think that's kind of a shame? That you'd even express distaste on your face in public if you heard Boyz II Men? I know if it were me and it were any of the BIIM songs I listed above, I'd just nod my head and be like, "That's my cut!" Are there songs I publicly stifle my pleasure in hearing, depending on who's around me? Of course there are, though I can't think of any right off the bat. But Boyz II Men songs aren't among them. I still miss groups like Snap, Black Box and 2 Unlimited. Never really liked "The Power," but I loved "Rhythm Is a Dancer." Black Box's 2 hits were a year before I got into music and they never got any recurrent play on my pop station like "The Power" did. I never liked "Get Ready for This." I really liked Culture Beat's "Mr. Vain" and Captain Hollywood Project's "More and More," off the top of my head.

Mr Vain and More and More are classics as well. I could give you a giant list of 90's dance music that I still love today.
2 Unlimited are HUGE for me. At the time I was big into techno stuff and this was my go-to group. Even when they went more europop by the end. But songs like Workaholic, Magic Friend, Get Ready For This, No Limit still make me nod my head. While I'm talking about this I might as well mention that the KLF's "White Room" was a masterpiece of dance back in the day. I love the story of the guy's who formed this group. If you ever get a chance, read their wiki page.
Black Box's "Strike It Up" and "Ride On Time" are mega faves. I liked Snap's albums, even though after hearing the second one I knew it was way better than the first one. The first album was very amateurish musically compared to the second. The third was not very well known mostly because the sound changed dramatically to world and trance sounds but I got into that one as well.
I'll never forget me and my brother going into a hick pub and playing Snoop's Gin and Juice on the jukebox and feeling like everyone was staring at us for playing it...thought we might have to fight our way out....
I'm now feeling I need a night with the 90's music, a little New Jack Swing at my nuts.....(that's trivia, name that tune)

I wouldn't notice the difference between a $10 and a $100 steak myself. But sound quality I do know.

You have no idea. I can identify the differences between Hawaii Skunk, Northern Lights, Master Kush, and Purple Power within seconds. No joke.
