The first single from Good Girl Gone Bad. Written and produced by Terius "The-Dream" Nash and Christopher "Tricky" Stewart with the addition of Kuk Harrell. This was one of the biggest singles of 2007. I think it's her best song to date.

This is still her best song to date by far and a stone cold classic in my book. One of the best (and arguably the best) singles of 2007.

This still her best song to date by far and a stone cold classic in my book. One of the best (and arguably the best) singles of 2007. Completely agree. I love this song - she'll never top Umbrella. I was obsessed back in '07 and it still gets me every time I hear it. Not seen the video for a while... still amazing.

This should have gone #1 on Pop and stayed there for weeks. It's a shame that it didn't.
It's her best single IMO.

I blame this not going to #1 on Pop on the label for sending out SUAD so early.

It hasn't held up too well for me, probably because I wore the hell out of it in 07...but it is an amazing song, yes...

I agree. I don't think this held up well at all. I was done with it at the end of 07'.

I like this song, but I wouldn't call it one of her best songs. Disturbia, Don't Stop The Music, Take a Bow, even Russian Roulette and Hard are better in my opinion. I think it deserved the huge success it had, anyways, since the video is really great and it's a catchy tune. I liked it better when it came out, It was one of my favorite songs ever. Now It's just good.

Still as fabulous as the day it was released. The perfect pop song.

This song just reminds me of '07 more than any song. It was pure pop perfection and guilty pleasure, but now, it lags behind some of Rihanna's better composed/produced hits.

I HATED this when it first came out, but during the summer of 2007 I grew to really like it. I regret that it missed my chart as it's grown to become one of my favorites from her.

Stan, sis! I love this more now than I did when it was released. The bridge is sooo good. I like the remix with Chris too.

This is still in my Top5 from her but it has been falling a couple of spots over the years. Disturbia, We Found Love, and Don't Stop The Music are probably my Top3 by her rn.

Disturbia is easily my favorite song of hers. So good. :'( I never cared for this one much, alough the "umbrella-ella- ella" hook is still damn catchy.

I can't believe she was only 20 when this was released, this propelled her into international stardom!
This is one of the few songs of the last decade that has huge replay value for me, the ending of the song where she repeats "It's pouring rain, come into me, come into me" is such a great closing. I heard everyone singing this song in Grade 8, the ella ella hook is on point.
And the bridge is amazing too, just everything about the song is pretty flawless if you ask me (except Jay Z's verse)

Overall, I love the song. I could do without Jay Z though and the umbrealla ella ella parts can be annoying depending on my mood. Also, it has been too overplayed over the years.

Even though this was much bigger outside my country, "Don't Stop The Music" was her first song that I really started hearing on the radio in here. I've heard fragments of this song before but I don't think I have heard the entire thing before "Loud" era. That's why DSTM feels much much more nostalgic to me and this was never one of my favorites from her. Also I love how people on the first pages of this thread reacted to the title

Does she release a new album each year? Well, for a while she ended up doing just that. (Also crazy: she ended up having bigger hits than this, which I don't think anyone expected)
