So, Today Was A Fairytale must be getting a "real video"? Disgusting. I was loving this era up until Fifteen, but I think I'm checking out till the next one. With this not even getting a real video, the mediocre songs on the re-release, the atrocious current pop single... ugh I'm just done for now.

^^ Agreed. I like this song, but her whole era took a turn for the worse when they decided to release "Fifteen". Now they've given this song a lame video, one that makes me believe this will be the last single from the album. *cries for "You're Not Sorry"/"Forever & Always"* To sum it up, "Fifteen" and "Today Was A Fairytale" have completely ruined this era for me.

So, Today Was A Fairytale must be getting a "real video"? That is what I'm assuming is gonna get a real video. Taylor Tweeted about the Fearless Video today so it pretty much is a Official video.I think that also means Fearless is pretty much the final single from the album. So it looks like the era with end with a TWAF real video.

Unless she's planning on holding out for a good video with "Forever & Always"...

Unless she's planning on holding out for a good video with "Forever & Always"... Mmmm.............nah; don't think so. I'm also pretty p***ed about how this era turned out. "Fifteen kinda disgusted me and I think "Fearless" might miss the Top 5 (it's been slowing down recently?) also since it received a crappy video (sorry, not a fan of live videos). Pardon my language, folks. It sometimes slips when I'm very mad.

It's a shame they passed on making a video for Fearless, which could have been awesome, and made one for the awful TWAF instead. Fearless is a MUCH better song than TWAF, and would have made a great video.

^The video for Fearless will still probably be nominated for Video of the year on an award show

I feel that "Fearless" will pick up in the coming weeks and make a strong move to get into the Top 5. Hopefully the video (even though it has its weaknesses) can give it a boost.
And even though "Fifteen" fell far short of expectations, I have great admiration for Taylor giving it a shot and releasing it, instead of just caving in to the expected commercial hits.

Maybe now that the Top 10 is breaking up some, this will move a little better. But I don't think it will get to the Top 5. I'm looking forward to her new material.

I think Fifteen and just a tad too much overexposure lately is hurting her, next album should pick her back up. Sad that Fearless is suffering on country radio though. Should've been the second or fourth single. =/

15 and Fearless just weren't good enough compared to her other releases. Yea, her next album should give her another good run. She has, imo, been really overexposed.

I think the girl needs a little break before the new album, for her own sake. Just a little down-time for herself, you know? She's been busy throughout the whole entire era, so it couldn't hurt her.

it wouldn't surprise me if they released a 6th single for summertime... I think they will, too. While it's not flying up the charts like a typical Taylor Swift single, "Fearless" is still doing quite well and will make the top 10 in two weeks, once Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker go recurrent. I think "Fearless" will climb for another 5-7 weeks, peaking around #4 or #5. Then I think that something upbeat, like "Forever & Always", will be released to sustain the album through the summer, with a new single from a new album coming around the end of September/beginning of October.

^ that's exactly what I was thinking.
Reminds me a bit of what they did with the timing of her last album ("Picture To Burn" & "Should've Said No")

Anybody have any updates as to how "Fearless" is doing on the charts?

^ #10 this week. Not moving as fast as other Taylor songs have moved before, I don't expect this going any further than #5.

It's possible that this could have around the same peak as "Fifteen" did (~#7) unless it gets a second wind...
I still wouldn't rule out a quick release of a song like "Forever and Always" -- similar to when Taylor performed her brand new single and future #1 hit "Should've Said No" at the ACM'S a few years ago.

This is one of my favorite songs on the album, as I like how she connects to the lyrics and I think the production is amazing. White Horse was decent, and I didn't really care for Fifteen. Love Story and You Belong With Me were both iconic hits, but I actually like Fearless a little better. I would like to see Forever and Always or Hey Stephen possibly released if she doesn't have a new album/new music ready to go...I hope Big Machine throws its support on this one and gets it to the top yet, though I'm doubting it'll get higher than the 5-7 range, but I hope I'm wrong!

I don't think this album is getting anymore singles. 'Fifteen' basically ruined the second half of this era for her, in my opinion. I feel like she could have had a perfect era if she had followed up 'You Belong With Me' with 'Fearless', 'Forever & Always', and 'You're Not Sorry'.

^Definitely, I agree. I can see why critics liked Fifteen a lot (I didn't, not from a fan or critical standpoint), and whether I liked it or not I can't see how it was radio material at all. Only a #7 hit for an artist who's been as red hot as T Swift kinda slowed her up, and it only got that high because of who she is. I really wish Fearless would catch on though...and I also wonder whether or not there will be any more singles. I think either Forever & Always, Hey Stephen, or You're Not Sorry would be solid single choices, but new music would also be great...

I actually thought "Fifteen" was the best thing she released since "Tim McGraw." "Fifteen" just didn't have that more glamourous feel that I think is more present on this album. Not that the glamourous feel is necessarily bad.
"Fearless" is not a prime cut of hers. It just doesn't seem as inspired as her previous singles, and some of the lyrics just don't scan well ("I don't know why, but with you I'd dance / In a storm in my best dress, fearless" is a particular offender.
I would pin most of the blame on Hillary Lindsey, as Taylor is a more than competent songwriter and Liz Rose has proven herself repeatedly capable of writing Crowning Music of Awesome ("Songs About Rain," "This Town Needs a Bar," "I Don't Love You Like That"). Hillary, on the other hand, seems to be perpetually in a contest with Aimee Mayo to see who can out-cliché whom.
I wouldn't say I'm starting to burn out on Taylor yet, but it's starting to look like she's getting an air of overexposure.

Hillary, on the other hand, seems to be perpetually in a contest with Aimee Mayo to see who can out-cliché whom. I heard Taylor talking in an interview a while back, saying that she had the song written -- but she couldn't decide on what to use for a Bridge. So it sounded like Taylor just asked Hilary Lindsay to help her out with that part...

I predicted in the thread about what's going to happen in country music this year that Taylor was going to have trouble and struggle with country radio and was to have more success on the pop charts than on the country charts. "Today Was A Fairytale" was more successful on pop radio (#2) than on country (#41).
Her two lowest charting official country singles are now "Fifteen" and "Fearless" both reaching #7 and so far #10 respectively, I don't think that "Fearless" will make it past #9 on the country charts with Joe Nichols now passing her and Chris Young close to passing her now.
I didn't expect that Taylor's struggles with country radio to be that quick or sudden. Hopefully with a new single and/or new album things will change but right now she's in trouble on country radio.

I think she'll be just fine once the new album comes out in the fall...
The question right now is whether they take a break until then, or release a quick 6th (and likely upbeat) single.

It reminds me of what happened to John Denver. He was really hot on the country charts in 1975 with the following hits: 1. Sweet Surrender-#7 country, #13 pop, and #1 A.C. 2. Thank God I'm A Country Boy-#1 country, #1 pop, and #5 A.C. 3. I'm Sorry-#1 country, #1 pop, and #1 A.C./b-side Calypso-#2 pop Then he won the C.M.A. Entertainer of the Year and his hits during 1976 look like this: 1. Fly Away-#12 country, #13 pop, and #1 A.C. 2. Looking For Space-#30 country, #29 pop, and #1 A.C. 3. Like A Sad Song-#34 country, #36 pop, and #1 A.C. By the time he released his second greatest hits album during the spring of 1977, he certainly was not the hottest act on the planet.

What about "Take Me Home, Country Roads".....wasn't that a huge hit before those songs?
