Well I don't know. Tedder cuts always sound the same, but Nelly is so different from everyone else that I'm sure she'll make her thing and create a new sound with him. I agree. I have full faith that Furtado will manage to get her own sound out of Tedder. Just the other day I was thinking about how fresh most of the Loose sounds compared to the tracks Timbaland produced after it. Some of it may be attributable to Danja but also to Furtado's gift at songwriting. There's always the sense that she truly collaborates with her produces rather than just doing what they suggest. We hear her in her music.

YES!! Don't forget that my boy Tedder also produced If I Can't Have You for Kelly Clarkson, so not all of his music is bombastic. He is one of my favorite producers of this decade (Waking Up is one of my favorite albums of the year easily). I think Timbo/Danja do some of their best work with Nelly so I hope they continue to work together and Salaam Remi is magic as well. I am really excited for this!

I hope the tour is just a small South American/European deal. I want her promoting like hell for the English album.

Nelly Furtado English Album Due in May The new year is still a couple days away, but Nelly Furtado has already given us something to look forward to in 2010. The pop star has announced a release date for her fourth English album. The follow-up to 2006’s multi-platinum Loose will be released on May 25, 2010, according to the singer. “Ahh.. 2010 …Can’t wait for my spring Ml PLAN tour, and my brand new english album release on May 25th, 2010!!!!!!!!!!!” she tweeted. Furtado issued her first Spanish album Mi Plan in September and collaborated with Timbaland on “Morning After Dark” from his Shock Value II album. She is already working with the producer on material for her next effort. “Timbaland and I hooked up over spring break and we wrote about 10 songs together and we had a blast,” she told The Associated Press earlier this year. www.rap-up.com/2009/12/30/nelly-furtado-english-album-due-in-may/

I honestly can't wait for the new album and the worldwide tour. Today I was in the car and had an old CD I made in the CD player and suddenly No Hay Igual came on and I was pleasantly surprised. It reminded me how much I loved Loose back in 2006/7 so I decided to play the album again today. It still felt fresh and so original. God bless Nelly Furtado!!!

I believe anytime Nelly works with Timbaland, the music will automatically sound fresh. And like someone else said, it's the way Nelly writes her music. Loose is a clear example of that. It sounds so much more diverse than FS/LS and Shock Value.
"Morning After Dark" is not a true collaboration between Nelly and Timbaland. Nelly was rushed onto the song, and didn't even write her own part. For me that's why I think some people were disappointed with the song.

I think she really brings out a fresh side of Timbaland and wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens with Tedder. I think a song like All Good Things is a perfect example... Very excited to hear her English stuff with Salaam.

"Light energy" hey? Well that being said does kinda match the production sound of Tedder.. I was hoping she would go for an edgy electro/dance-pop sound. Her voice would go well will it. It would be cool if she worked with RedOne. Maybe we will have to rely on Timbaland to create something.

Looks like I stand corrected. Either way Nelly didn't have much input into the song besides her verse.

Morning After Dark would've been better if the following two things happened:
1. SoShy wasn't on it. She was lame.
2. Timbo didn't hog the chorus. Technically, it is his song, but he's a producer, not a singer.

This is one of my most anticipated albums of the year. Nelly has NEVER disappointed me with her albums, so I'm expecting nothing less than stellar songs from this one. Hopefully she'll keep her unique style while still remaining current ("Wait for You" is one of the best examples of this off the last album), unlike some other pop stars who have fallen victims to their producers.

Quite a few bits of news:
She will be performing at the Winter Olympics:
And finally, she's performing at the Pepsi Smash Super Bowl concert:
Maybe a first single premier at the Super Bowl concert?

Hmmm. Im guessing if she is performing a new single, it will probably premier a week before.

I also think that she might premiere the single at the Superbowl Concert. I certainly don't think she would do Spanish stuff although it is Miami...
On the other hand early February sounds kinda early to premiere a first single for an album that is supposed to come out in late May.

February does sound a bit early. She should premiere her lead single on American Idol.
