Thought a thread might aswell be made for this as it's getting some spins on Alternative. No adds date as of yet. I could see this doing something if RCA really pushed it, much like Daughtry. This has a nice Alternative feel to it. Damn catchy melody and immaculate vocals. A sure fire winner.

Huh? There's only one Alternative station playing this and it's a mislabeled HAC station.

I haven't looked into it. 30+ spins on Alternative?

Yep, KUCD is pretty much pure Hot AC.

I will say, though, that this is surprisingly good after hearing "For Your Entertainment". If this were some random unknown band that got the proper promotion, I think it'd have a decent shot at cracking the top 40 of this chart... but since it's Adam Lambert, virtually no chance.

The point is that if this station were listed properly (as Hot AC), "WWFM" would have 0 spins on Alternative. As it is though, it's doing decently on Pop (in the top 40) and Hot AC (in the top 50) and gaining on both.

I will say, though, that this is surprisingly good after hearing "For Your Entertainment". I didn't see why FYE never made the Top 40 on Pop. I liked that one and Allison Iraheta's "Friday I'll Be Over U" just fine and streamed them regularly from All Access. "Whataya Want From Me" is real good as well, probably a little better.

Some P!nk reject on Alternative? Well, I guess with "Just Like a Pill" being the female rock performance of the decade, it could work out for him.

Well, stranger things have happened. People seem to forget that Katy Perry hit the top 30 and Jack Johnson almost scored a top 5 not all that long ago.

Bumping this thread for three reasons: (1) Because I listened to the song (still good); (2) To say that Mediabase has finally moved KUCD over to the Hot AC panel; (3) To show everyone the official KUCD logo currently on their website. "Hawaii's New Music Alterative". Nice!

KUCD played Sevendust - "Prodigal Son" in 2008. Only about 4 or 5 times, but they did play it. Maybe their listenership prefers their more Hot AC stuff that they play so they've leaned more and more that way. I bet there aren't a lot of rockers out there in Hawaii compared to other areas of the country.

I wasn't a fan of Lambert's on Idol (Danny Gokey FT...well third isn't bad) and I DESPISED "For Your Entertainment," so I wasn't gonna go out of my way to hear this. Well, I saw the video on vh1, and I've gotta say I really dig this song. It's nothing fantastic, but I've always enjoyed good pop rock and that's basically what this is.
But yeah, David Cook couldn't do anything with "Bar-ba-sol" and Daughtry apparently released "You Don't Belong" to considerably less than critical acclaim. So I think Chris may be the first, and only, idol to ever experience rock radio success.
