no news on whether or not there will be a hard copy to buy in stores, but it will be a completely free download
Album comes out on Valentine's Day btw

Its basically singling something out in order to uniquely promote it, like getting the attention of the audience by using the opposite methods of everyone else. In AVA's case its making the album free in order for it to stand out and hopefully give it an edge over the opposition. This method can be used to regain interest in the band, or it can simply be used to compete.
That's how I was taught Underwriting anyways

I know it sounds weird, but I mean when you think about it, it's probably a pitch to get everyone back into them, or possibly to hype up Blink-182's comeback even more, who knows? I actually see several different explanations for it, maybe their even trying to make their touring more profitable too.

I love the chorus. Probably one of Angels & Airwaves strongest. Too bad they insist on those stupid and annoying long intros. On a big side note, I wonder when Tom, Mark and Travis are going to focus on the new blink-182 record. They are supposed to go into the studio in mid January, but I highly doubt they are ready for recording. Plus, Angels & Airwaves should have a small tour, probably Tom has to finish Love (the record and the film), Travis is working on his solo record and Mark will most likely produce some stuff and do some remixes. There is also the blink-182 European Tour in the upcoming summer. I'm afraid the new album won't even come out in 2010.  |

I'm not so sure I'd agree 100% with either statement, but I can still see either one of them turning out to be true. I was biting my tongue when I first saw this topic, because I wasn't sure if anybody else would see where I'm coming from and if that were the case, I'm not sure how good a job I'd do at explaining myself. But today I had lunch with a good friend of mine I don't get to see often anymore, and he brought up their new album (and the potential one from Blink). And I told him my reaction to reading that AVA's new album is called Love was a head-shaking "Go fuck yourself, Tom." And my buddy responded with a knowing "Yeah." (Alternate reaction that works just as well: a dismissive "Get the fuck outta here.") |
