Congradulations to ALL the nominees. Newcomer Diane Birch led the pack by reciving an astonishing 11 nominations followed by Yeah Yeah Yeahs with 9 (or 10 if including a nomination for Best Film, TV, or other Multimedia Album). Donora recived 7 nominations as well as Tanya Morgan. Beyonce snagged 5 and Taylor Swift recived 4, while Kanye West recived 6 nominations for only two songs. Irish R&B singer Laura Izibor recived 6 nominations, but the shock was that two of her nominations were in the same category (Best R&B Song for "Dont Stay" and "From My Heart to Yours").

What exactly are the COCO Awards?

Ehh not exactly. They started 5 years ago as nothing special, just kind of a "Best Album, Best Recording, Best Lyrics, Best Artist" list and then 3 years ago we decided to change it to an actually award. We aren't trying to be "credible" we just wanted to stray away from all the other mainstream music awards who don't award the best of the best. It's more of a way for people to discover new, and really good, music that they might not have heard before. Whats wrong with making your own awards? We weren't happy with what The Grammys or AMAs were putting out because it wasnt the best of the best. This list if what The Coco Commitee considers the best of the best. But we accept opinions.

no, sadly there isnt. but we are trying to get it made into something televised - internet or on tv. but right now, its just online and they are "announced" on our website, which is a blog right now because our webstie is under construction and wont be up untill about march (after the awards are announced).

they get a framed certificate (it will be signed and a gold certification emblem is placed on it). trophies, hopefully, will be award next year. We really want it to be a real award show. Hopefully one day it will be hahaha.
