Lead single from the upcoming album, "The Constant". No adds date as of yet. On a side note another song from the album "To the Burial" is available to download for free at alternativeaddiction.com.

Obviously most of you here know I'm a HUGE fan of Story of the Year and can't wait for "The Constant." "I'm Alive" does seem to have the radio-friendiness going for it, but I really wonder if SOTY is going to have a decent hit again considering their last single to even hit the Top 50 was "We Don't Care Anymore" at #28. It's disappointing because they did choose in my mind the correct tracks from "The Black Swan" as singles, but none of them really went anywhere. Hell, "Wake Up" was the only one I ever heard on the radio.

No, I think "Wake Up" managed Top 50.

No, I think "Wake Up" managed Top 50. I could have sworn it just scraped the Top 50 too, but according to Wikipedia, it never made it. Then again, it's Wikipedia, so that may not be entirely correct.

"Terrified" is one of my favorite songs. Definitely favorite by these guys. Wake Up was amazing too. I know a few old ones but nothing really by memory. Anthem of Our Dying Day? Did these guys do that one too? I like that one.
Anywho, the two songs sound amazing. And I'm stoked.

From their first album "Page Avenue," the singles were "Until The Day I Die" & "Anthem of Our Dying Day," which both did very well hitting #10 & #12 and "Sidewalks" which hit #40. That album as a whole was much more pop-punk/screamo than the last two which had more of a metal feel and IMO much more awesome feel to them.

I don't know where you're looking on wikipedia, but if you're looking in the singles portion of the Story of The Year wikipedia page, those peak positions are all from billboard. And the Billboard Modern Rock chart only has 40 positions. So if that's what you're looking at, a top 50 alternative peak is entirely possible.

I didn't know that they only go up to Top 40. I guess that makes sense why I don't recall seeing any song reach between 41-50.

Just heard this again on the radio today and I must say, I'm sorry, but I just don't find this song to be too interesting at all.
I appreciate them getting right back on the horse and putting out a new record in a little under 2 years, but I don't see them reclaiming any "lost" ground. Not led by this song, at least.

yeah "wake up" hit #48 per mediabase. and wikipedia doesn't have those positions because there's no way of sourcing anything below #40 because mediabase doesn't have access to chart runs of old songs to my knowledge

Yes I recall "Wake Up" just sneaking in to the top 50. Hopefully this fairs better. Official adds date: February 16th (allaccess)

Hot Celine Dion remake!
"Wake Up" peaked at #53 on an official update. It might've been a mid-week top 50.

I really like this song, I'm not totally sold that it will get the love it might deserve on radio. I've been trying for the last half hour to figure out what it reminds me of and it won't come to me....it's some obscure 90's song in parts that I keep hearing which makes me really like it.

^ 100% agreed. This band just amazes me with every album they release. Although, now that I've heard the album about five times, I think they could have chosen a better single than "I'm Alive." Kudos for my station for playing it :)

I also love The Constant. It may already be my favorite Story Of Thre Year record and I never expected big things from this new album. :)

Hey Gerry,
Based on allaccess data that shows the format leaders/starters data and the spincrease data of a +27 bullet currently...my guess is this song is hovering somewhere just outside the top 50 on alternative. I don't think it's getting much if any support on active.
