I have to wonder if all these 90's R&B males would have at least slightly more current success if they weren't all so blamd. Jon B., Brian McKnight, 112, Joe (though "Ride With You" was good), Montell Jordan, etc.

Brian McKnight and Joe are still doing just fine at Urban AC and Joe had a decent mainstream R&B hit with "More And More" a year ago. Jon B. is totally dead to all formats now though. 112 are just crap.

This song is okay but it shouldn't have been the next single. I was hoping for "Patience" or "One More Dance". Oh well....

Urban AC is such a small format it doesn't even matter. I was referring to mainstream Urban success. Brian McKnight is obviously not even trying to appeal to Mainstream Urban or his last three singles wouldn't have been slow jams. He still has an audience in fans of slow jams so that's what he caters to and his albums still debut Top 10. He's not going to abandon them by putting on some faux-gangsta image to try to appeal elsewhere. His one song with Nelly bombed so bad it was an embarassment.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I said that if they put out less bland material, I wonder if they'd still have more mainstream success than now. I didn't mean Brian or whomever should abandon their style nor try to have Top 10 mainstream Urban hits. I simply meant if they put out catchier songs, slow or not, it would be intersting to see if they got even slightly more Urban airplay than they do now.

I can't help but wish it was Jon B. that recorded Obsession (No Es Amor). It would be nice to see him have a hit again, but with a worthy song.
I really am not feeling this track.

This song is hot! I think i will go listen to his album now. I heard this on the radio and it doesnt sound like the typical boring urban ac stuff i heard. It sounds very mainstream friendly, no worst than any of Usher's or Mario's material.
