Second single from the album "Smash the Control Machine". After the title track suprisingly hit the top 30. Adds date: January 26th.

I think this is one of the best songs off of the album and certainly one of the most single-ready. This band doesn't really seem like one that will ever break into the mainstream though. Their style is dated and their singer honestly scares me.

^Not to mention they blow. *walks away mischievously" I don't even have enough exposure (and recent exposure, at that) to have an opinion on Otep, but that was funny, right there.

I want the singer to use a strap-on on me!

It's even more disturbing with that creepy smiley.....I'm sleeping with one eye open tonight.

Wish I had done the same. I had nightmares regarding that outburst. Anyway, I gave this song a chance in the end. It's decent. Nothing more, nothing less. It really does sound like an "Iowa" outtake with Otep at the helm. Lots of grunts and growls a plenty.

^Not to mention they blow. *walks away mischievously" I was going to come in here and ask whether it was Otep or Opeth you said you liked. I guess I have my answer.

Hehe well I think if you listened to both and knew anything about my taste, you could probably guess which I liked. Though the newest Opeth album wasn't very good. Too technical, not enough emotion.

This song has absolutely nothing close to spectacular about it. A major letdown from "Smash The Control Machine" (song) in comparison for me.

"Smash the Control Machine" wasn't too spectacular itself. I found it to be pretty paltry. Although, I would withdraw my original statement of describing it as "awful". "Rise, Rebel, Resist" is pure junk food. So, if you're looking for the caviar of this genre, I suggest looking elsewhere.

It took a few more listens, but I am more into this now than "Smash The Control Machine." I actually can't believe the previous comment I wrote about it last week. I don't see Otep climbing the charts like Reinhold Messner (one of the world's most known mountain climbers), but I do like the energy they bring in the few songs I've heard.

She definitely has a lot of venom. "Kisses And Kerosene" from the new album is worth a listen if only to hear how absolutely disturbed she can be. However, "Ur A Wmn Now" would make the best single from the album after this, I'm thinking.

Reinhold Messner (one of the world's most known mountain climbers) I read that and the name was familiar, but when you said he was a mountain climber, I thought, "Really? That's not right. I don't know the names of mountain climbers, so why does that name ring a bell so much?" So I looked him up on Wikipedia and quickly saw that he was, indeed, a mountain climber, but also the person Ben Folds Five name-checked in the title of their last album.
