I wish she would make some catchy, strong pop songs with some kick ass ballads. I don't think I will get my wish though!

Here's Mariah collaborating with Nick's new group: School Gryls "Get Like Me' Truly, there are no words for what she is doing to her career! LMAOOOOOO! YA'LL R CRAZY! until she switches label, her career will stay in the toilet. def jam is OBSESSED with getting another 220 million AI ballad from her a la WBT. that's why: Bye Bye I Stay In Love I Want To Know Right to Dream HATE U and Angels Cry have all been released to radio in less than 2 years. While #1 singles like "Migrate", "Side Effects", and "Ribbon" stay as album tracks. I see no reason why they won't F up the next era as well. At this point, Mimi may never get her last 3 #1 single to beat The Beatles.

at the 'Get Like Me' song being hotter than anything post 'Obsessed'. No, I'm not joking. I would have rather her released this than IWTKWLI and UOMF.

I agree... some hot dance tracks and belting, heartfelt ballads would be the perfect mix... she should nix the bland mid-tempos like Inseparable, Impossible, UOMF, etc. But what she really needs are some club-bangers to get her back on the map. That's what's in now. By the time she realizes that, it might be too late. And more classic sounding ballads with an R&B twinge... and SMART lyrics. That's what made WBT such a masterpiece. Angels Cry was the closest clone, but it had too much of an AC feel, and wasn't R&B-tinged enough, and the lyrics weren't as good as WBT. And a clone really isn't a solution after all... she just needs a fun song or a smart song. I think Obsessed was so perfect.

She singing background big f**king deal. Every lil thing doesnt have to be thought out to be a number one smash or how it can pad her stats. These kids spend a lot of time at her house so she hooked them up.

Mariah really does need to step up her game if she wants to continue to have hits. Compare a song like "Up Out My Face" with "Bad Romance," and I don't know how she thought the song would have a chance.

UOMF is lazy. I like the song, but it reminds me of X-Girlfriend from RAINBOW. A poor attempt at being ghetto. I would die if Mariah went dance for the next CD. She should...she has NOTHING to lose at this point.

I think she might be a little hesitant to go the dance route simply because she can't dance.
I hope she does go into a little more dance music on the next album though. Maybe she'd be able to capture her former worldwide success again by doing so.

She should stay true to herself and also decide for her own what singles she wants to release... like not release IWTKWLI instead of HATEU/HATEU (Remix)....

I thought there were several reports or something that said Mariah seemed really annoyed with the selection of IWTKWLI has the second single. Remember how hard she had to fight to get Shake it Off to be the follow-up sing to WBT instead of SS?

Mariah's style is whatever is going to get her sales and radio play. If R&B is not current and Pop/Dance is, there is no doubt she will start heading in that direction. She did it back in 1999 when pop music blew up so I'm sure she'll do it again. I just hope its not too late when she does. More generic R&B ballads like I Stay In Love, Bye Bye, Inseperable, Angels Cry are not going to work again. She needs to let that formula go or she'll continue to flop.

i think she should do Adult R&B/Pop w/ dance influences (Emotions anyone?) that would work best for her and she wouldn't be alienating any audience

I don't even mean I want her to do dance music. I would think it would be a bit forced if she tried to do Gaga/electro music. I just want good, relevant pop music from her rather than formulaic ballads and dreary, generic r&b rehashes. Mariah is better than that.

All you need to do is think back to when Time Of Your Life came about for the Pepsil campaign, and the amazing response it got from her fans and requests to make it into a full song for E=MC2 to see that people love Mariah doing great pop songs. I understand it isn't what she is interested in doing, but if something I had done got that much positive reaction, I think I'd stick at least one or two songs like that on an album (for the fans...)

The thing about Mariah's pop music is that it is generally a hit. She can create some excellent pop music. The world knows that. Her R&B music is hit or miss. Probably about a 50/50 shot at success with that genre of tunes. Pop is her calling. Always has been. And with the resurgence of pop music as the mainstream, I would hope she would capitalize on it. I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time should be her inspiration for recording new music.

I think Island Def Jam are cancelling "Angels Advocate"....Killing its singles, and are about to push the "Mariah Carey vs Jump Smokers" remix album!
The Jump Smokers announced on twitter that Island Def Jam is aiming for a end of May release for the album! so a single should be dropping within the next 2-3 weeks! expect a push back to June of July for this release!

From my understanding...the whole "Mariah Carey vs Jump Smokers" remix album is nothing but "Dance Pop Remixes".....ALL I GOTTA SAY IS YAYYYYYYYYYY!
SOMETHING IS TELLING ME EITHER "Ribbon" or "More Than Just Friends" will be the first single! I wonder how they sound as "Pop Dance Remixes"! I know for a fact "Ribbon" will slay (If the original version is the dance pop remix!).

All they said is that they're "being told it's dropping at the end of May." Doubt a single will be out. If anything, it seems just something to hold fans over for a little while.

Would it be wrong of me to want a new Mariah album for December? I just think she should try it ONE more time. Like Def Jam killed 2 perfectly good eras, but I KNOW they won't do it again...right?
She can release the CD the week of Xmas like Mary J and get sales of 300k. Also she can release it without a hit single (again, like Mary J) and it will still do good.

I'll never grasp her not being crazy about "Love Takes Time"- thematically, she's done countless songs just like it since. Soundwise, it's one of her prettier-sounding tracks- definitely one of my favorites from her (that whole first album is, actually).
She should perform songs she hasn't done in eons- for a while, she's been doing the same older songs in the concerts.
Wouldn't surprise me if the urban features album was shelved. Will there be another single from Memoirs? Quick tidbit: She's done five videos from the Memoirs album- if she does a sixth, it will be the most tracks from one album that she's filmed videos for.

Rainbow and TEOM both had 7 and Butterfly had 8 videos.
