So Drift Away spent 23 weeks at #1 knocking out Celine's record of 19 weeks. And now it's on its 66 week with 8th World Wonder behind it by 200 spins, and You Raise Me Up will soon be falling fast thanks to his new song, so that could keep Drift Away on even longer- that's what happened with Forever And For Always and Calling All Angels- they got ride of the highest song below #10 so Drift Away could stay on. So the big question is what is the record and how long will Drift Away stay on?
8th World Wonder is weeks behind Celine has slowed big time, maybe Summer Breeze '04? It looks like Drift Away may spend 70 weeks on the chart. :( Ac should have gotten ride of this weeks ago!! If only Rescue would have gotten some adds, it could have killed Drift Away which is going to be like Hero and stay in the recurrent top 5 for a year.

The record is 87 weeks accomplished by "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins. I hope that doesn't get the record.

It still has 21 weeks to go. I have a feeling it'll drop out before then. Maybe it'll be like "I Hope You Dance" and "If You're Gone" and stay on for about 80 weeks before another song comes along and throws it off. I sure hope so, as I'm sick of "Drift Away" as well!

According to R&R, the song has been on the chart for 71 weeks (as of the 7/23 chart). Where are you guys getting the 66?
It'll need to stay on until the November 19 chart to break the record. I don't think it'll last that long, but I can easily see it hanging on another month. There's still a 228-spin difference between it and Kimberley Locke, which can be a lot on AC. But then it could be Josh Groban that gets bumped out of the top 10 instead, so who knows. The only thing with Josh Groban is he wouldn't go recurrent if he was bumped out of the top 10 as he's only been on for 38 weeks.

But Drift Away already holds the record under the current 50/10 rule?

How did Shania get back ahead of Groban on the Year To Date Chart? She can't be getting THAT much recurrent play to get back ahead of him could she? I mean, he's been between 7-9 on the weekly charts recently.

Looking at the monthly figures, it appears that she was never behind Josh Groban. Was she ever? I don't remember?

Looks like Celine may be the hero in this mess as she gained over 200 spins this week, and if she can keep it up, she just might be ale to knock Krapper out of the top 10. C'MON CELINE!!!!!

Delilah played "You And I" last night, so that should help it. Speaking of which, when did Delilah start airing on Saturdays? Or was it just my station playing a re-run or something?

I'm not sure on Saturday, but I don't think that would affect yet because it's 24 hours behind. Also, I know Delilah has a "best of" show on Sundays.

Drift Away has been in the top 20 for 66 weeks. This week should be his 68 because I haven't typed up the one for last weeks yet so that's why I put 66 weeks.
I have a feeling You And I's 200 spins is going to drop to like 70 by the end of the week :'( Hopefully that won't happen, she has gained 3 stations for a total of 100. I still hope 8th World Wonder can make top 10!
It looks like you Raise Me Up will fall below Drift Away :'( makeing Drift Away stay on the charts even longer!! When does AC give up?

What I meant to say is that Saturday is the only day they can run the show at night, since Delilah is on Friday and Sunday nights (and I don't know of any station that runs a countdown show during the week). I guess they could always run the show during the day, unless they have other special shows running over the weekend (I usually don't listen to their regular programming).

If you live in the Los Angeles area, you can hear AT40 Monday through Friday. They stretch out the weekend's previous show over 5 days. It starts at 4:30 a.m. and goes for about 45 minutes.

In its 74th week, Drift Away is the second greatest gainer and has put 330 spins between it and #11.
