Pretty sure we're all capable of figuring it out for ourselves. I've actually been wondering for awhile why this person does this. Just seems completely unnecessary to me. Hmm maybe it does annoy me a little bit, i guessđ€·ââïž

It is kind of annoying.

I don't mind the posts indicating how many new top ten entries we have every week.

Radio clinging to Chasin You and and NBY like me to the last piece of candy. Sheesh I feel like âChasinâ Youâ will be the #1 song of 2020 just based off how long it took to get to #1 and how slowly it is dropping.

Oh by far I have been monitoring the Year End Airplay Chart for Billboard and "Chasin You" is far and away the #1 the next closest is "Nobody But You" which is a full 80,000k in Total Billboard audience behind and the next highest song that is still on the chart is LoCash "One Big Country Song" which only has around half what Morgan Wallen has

Thanks for that info raylatch98. LOCASH being anywhere near the top is kinda ridiculous tbh, that song is such a non-factor but I see why it is high on that list since itâs been on the radio chart forever (but thatâs a whole ânother discussion.)

LoCash is actually ranked #24 and the most I see them doing is scraping the Top 20.

I have a question for anyone. Do you think chart longevity makes a song a bigger hit or more weeks at #1 and less weeks on the chart? For example BB has "Make Me Wanna" as Thomas Rhett's biggest hit based on it being on the chart 32 weeks but I believe his biggest hit should be "Die A Happy Man" based on it spending more weeks at #1. Just a thought crossing my mind and I'd like to hear some thoughts.

I'd bet more people overall would remember 'Die a Happy Man' over 'Make Me Wanna'. As well, didn't 'Die a Happy Man' peak higher on the overall BBH100 chart?
Hell, when I think of Thomas' biggest hits on country I sometimes forget about 'Make Me Wanna' and think of 'Crash & Burn', 'Marry Me' & 'It Goes Like This' as signature/bigger hits than 'Make Me Wanna' .... but again that's just my personal thoughts.

I think maybe the answer is somewhere in between. I think more weeks at number one should be a big factor, but maybe a better factor could be weeks in the top 10?

Billboard could be making rule changes for all of the charts since The Panic! At The Disco spent over 60 weeks at number 1 and over 100 weeks on the charts on the Rock charts. When they made the rule changes, it forced a lot of songs to go recurrent right away who spent a lot of weeks on the charts. If they do this to the country charts? The songs that are 30 or more weeks would be forced to go recurrent. It is a way to discourage record companies to push a song like After A Few to reach number 1. I think it would be fair to see these songs to be retired and give other artists a chance to be going for number 1. The country chart rules would be The Bones/After A Few/I Hope/One Big Country Song/Chasing You rule and retire these songs early.

I guess the only problem is that songs like âI Hopeâ , âChasinâ Youâ or âThe Bonesâ all deserves #1 due to their high streaming and digital sales numbers so it makes sense they werenât retired early.

There is a lot of disconect between the high streaming and digital numbers. 1.The majority of the people in this country are low income, and can't afford streaming access. 2.People do not have a credit card to buy digital sales. 3.There are people who stream the same song over and over again which throws everything off. 4.The most requested songs are not the songs like the Bones and them. They are usually traditional songs like Ain't Always a Cowboy, or in Wyoming Ned LeDoux's Dance With Your Spurs On. The charts used to tally the number of requests in the total of spins. The number of spins do not say the song is popular. It is the radio companies forcing these songs to be played when in reality, they are being rejected. I consider Gabby Barrett as a rock star in the line of Pat Benetar, Heart, Joa Jett, Lita Ford and the likes. Gabby belongs in the Rock Genre.
