ok, hopefully i don't get b!tched out again (like i did a couple of weeks ago) for starting this thread. this song is currently being pushed to radio. the physical CD was released two days ago. this is the lead single from it. i did a search over the last 300 days and no pre-existing thread came up in regards to it. i searched for Yeah Yeah Yeahs (similar sounding band) over the last 300 days and they showed up in charts on this alt/rock forum. are all my ducks in a row here, jvandyck87? whew! ok... a-a-a-ahem....
here is my review of (what i think is) a good song (as evidenced by it being #2 on my personal chart from last week) i think you should check it out if you like Cure (1985-1989), Kim Wilde, MGMT, Til Tuesday, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. You Say Party! We Say Die! is a five-piece synthpop-meets-indie rock band with strong pop-punk tendencies. The lead single from their latest album is a catchy combination of swirly synth melodies floating over a twangy rock bass line that will make you want to grab some streaky eyeliner and fluorescent leggings. Of course, shaving one side of your head is completely optional, but strongly encouraged.more at: bit.ly/cKIdo1

This band's pretty good. I liked the album they put out in 2007. Don't think this'll do very well, but after that Big Pink song made the Top 40, who knows?

I can see this getting some airplay. Would fit in nicely alongside Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Florence and the Machine. I presume the song title is in reference to the Twin Peaks character of the same name.

i made the same presumption.
I was at first curious why this track is named after an incident from the TV series Twin Peaks, especially since I can't make a connection between the song's title and its lyrics. But then I learned that YSPWSD was once asked how they came up with their band name and frontwoman Becky Ninkovic responded with, "There's no one exact reason why" and "There's no universal deep meaning" behind it. That's all I needed to hear. Case closed.

Completely random in other words. Who do they think they are? The Devil Wears Prada?

I was hoping that bands who use punctuation in the middle of their names was a trend dead after mid-last decade. I guess I'll check out for their music, but the name isn't a welcoming factor.

Excuse me...I didn't bitch you out, okay? I told you what the rules of the forum were, which you later admitted you didn't know. If you go back in the thread you will see that I was fairly polite in informing you of these rules and went under the assumption that you didn't intend to break any rules. Now you're just being a dick to say I bitched you out and make my name a URL to the thread. And the fact that every thread you start contains a review on a blog of yours shows that you're self-promoting rather than trying to become a part of the pulse community. I gave you the benefit of the doubt last time, but given you're being such an asshole, I don't plan on doing it again.

i think one of the best things about butting heads is being able to laugh about it later.
apparently, you don't share that view.
i'm aware that i wasn't really "b!tched out". and in the end, you had "corrected" me on something i did that wasn't wrong, which can be seen in subsequent posts in that thread.
as for self-promoting vs becoming a part of the community, i feel i am doing both. i enjoy the community here. i've learned a lot. i've discovered new music. i am starting to gain more appreciation for pop music.
but also imagine writing a column AND wanting people to read it? i'm simply sharing my views on music, which is what people do here, except that my column contains my opinion in long form. there's no obligation to go and read my articles. some people enjoy them. some don't. the same way some people agree with your opinions and some don't.
anyway, i've gone on way too long here and contributed to the seriousness of your response. i apologize if i've offended. that wasn't my intention.
