I know that some people prefer to be blissfully ignorant, and most of the time, thats okay. Still though, I dont see how you could not see how the RTM results are skewed for Kris and Adam's songs.

With cumulus adding this, I could see it going top 10, maybe top 5. There is no way it is going number 1. Look at iTunes. Every song around it performs better then it does on iTunes. If this were to go #1, it would be the new "According To You" and would painfully show how much RCA is pulling the strings behind the scenes to make Adam's career happen.

iTunes offers a very clear picture to all PDs about what audiences enjoy hearing. Callouts are great and all (NOT RTM), but they have become less and less useful as iTunes becomes more and more popular.

Not saying that payola or high sales are the only ways for a song to reach number 1. There could be some current event that helped influence it (Orianthi) or the song could come from an artist that is in general very popular (Gaga or Pink). Dont see anything being able to explain this song going number except for massive payola, and if you can give me something, Id be really glad to hear (aside from OMGTHISSONGISSOOGOOD!). Anyway, doesnt really matter as there is no way this is going number 1.

well, in my opinion, this song is OMGTHISSONGISSOOGOOD and GOOD enough to go #1. Obviously you don't so you can use any payola excuses you want when and if it hits #1.

OK, I'm a fan, and the fans are overprotective. They have some reason: the previous few pages have various bigoted people attacking Adam's appearance and singing for being too femme while "accusing" him of being a transvestite without a penis. All this on a forum that's supposed to be devoted to a specific song's radio play, and this board is MILD.

I'm aware that all celebrities experience crap like this, but when you couple the insults with our nation's shortcomings in the civil rights department, add to it the fact that Adam has, per capita, more politically progressive fans then most, then you have fan overprotectiveness going through the roof.

One way the fans attempt to protect Adam is through positivity--basically magical thinking. If I say that "x" will happen, then it will. Hence the "he'll be the greatest superstar ever and he can outsing Pavarotti and outcompose Beethoven and he is the most gorgeous man ever and he's a saint who adores children and loves his mother and of course he would never be snarky and insult anyone and how dare you accuse him of taking drugs and and how dare you say his song was less than perfect and..."

On and on. Not exactly healthy, but, imo, much of the madness has a specific cause.

The madness is also a cause of a lot of the hate. Im still convinced he would have won Idol if the judges had just stopped telling everyone he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. The same thing is happening now with his post-Idol career, and in the end I think it is going to have the same result (him failing to live up to expectations, nothing to do with comparing his post-Idol career with Kris').

Now that is an explanation I can wrap my brain around. If people really feel like they are fighting against some larger issue, then perhaps they'd be inspired to be extreme in their response.

Still, the boy is human. I feel like every time I come in here someone is upping the ante for what being "against" Adam means and what will win some kind of theoretical argument about success for Adam. And ts been that way since before Idol ended IMO. It just seems so crazy to me.

Adam still bugs the crap outta me, but this song has grown on me. I'm wondering if it can still make top 10, even with the Cumulus adds. I would think some of the early adopters are ready to start cutting spins (like z100). Maybe the new adds will balance out the cutters, though, and at least keep it steady or maybe move up a bit over the next couple of weeks.
