NU KANYE WOOT!
From Mtv:
Grammys and platinum plaques haven't made Kanye West lazy; in fact, he's striving for more perfection. West, along with Jay-Z, premiered "Diamonds," the first single from his upcoming Late Registration album, Wednesday on New York radio
We will make contact with aliens in the next 5 years. Doubtful Definitely
station Hot 97.
"The Roc is still alive every time I rhyme," he says at the beginning of the record. He goes on to drop a litany of punch lines, rapping, "I realized that I arrived/ Because it takes more than a magazine to kill my vibe" and "All I need is y'all to pronounce my name/ It's Kanye, but some of my plaques, they still say 'Kayne.' "
Jay told the station's Angie Martinez that West mixed his record about 14 times before he felt comfortable enough to put it out.
West said "Diamonds" was inspired by memories of Jay-Z's 2001 Blueprint Lounge tour and recollections of being a part of the Roc-A-Fella movement. He also said he's still friends with former Roc CEO Dame Dash, whom he references in the song: "You know the next question, 'Yo, where's Dame at?'/ This track's the Indian dance to bring our reign back."
Late Registration is due July 12, according to Kanye.

I'm not into this one right now. But I liked "All Falls Down" a million times more than "Through The Wire," so maybe the same thing will happen this time.

I don't know what ya'll are talking about this is hot. Love the sample and that dark beat. Similar vibe to Fabolous' "Breathe."

This song is HOT! I instantly recognized the sample because my mom listens to Shirley Bassey all the time.

Not what I thought it would be. The song irritates me.
Maybe I'll like it after hearing it a few times but I doubt it.

I like this a lot, but it doesn't blow me away like a lead Kanye single should.
I'm hoping "Bittersweet," his duet with John Mayer, is the second single. I could see it taking off at Pop like "Over and Over" did, except a much better song with two much better artists.

its ok but he is too full of himself. From the very beginning, we all know that he IS full of himself (remember the Grammys?) I mean, why the hell is it that Kanye's album titles relate to how hard collegiate life is? First it's "College Dropout" and now it's "Late Registration." I wonder what his next CD will be? "Scholastic Probation?"

I heard this on Hot 97 and it sounds really hot on the radio.. way better than it sounded listening to it on the computer yesterday. It's got a very dark, hot and smoky, summer vibe.
