This is their second single. It's a pretty typical throwaway R&B ballad.

I really like this cut. It is a nice, smooth ballad that is sung nice by the boys. I am glad they chose to release something that is not as overtly sexual as some of their other releases. Plus, the singing is tight although somebody on a local radio station here in Chicago did say that they were singing off pitch on the song--I think they classified it as sharp or something like that. Either way it goes, they sound good to me.

112 What If Producer(s): Darrell "Ghettopop" Allamby Writer(s): D. Allamby Publisher(s): ASCAP Genre: R&B Label/Catalog Number: Def Soul (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: August 20, 2005
For a while, 112 was arguably the hottest male R&B group out there, mastering ballads and uptempo tracks. However, fans have shown little interest since the act's fateful departure from label Bad Boy. The guys hope to lure them back with "What If," from "Pleasure & Pain," their sophomore release on Def Soul. Sadly, the ballad lacks the sensuality and charm of previous hits, while the lifeless vocals sound more like a lullaby than a desperate plea. While it may receive spins at R&B radio, "What If" will ultimately leave fans longing for the 112 we knew and loved.—Jadeeva Smith

This was the worst follow up ever. Threy had a big Urban hit, and they messed it up by releasing the worst possible thing on their album. 112, and Faith should have stayed on BadBoy if this was the way they were going to handle their future releases.

What's the difference? They were handled horribly at Bad Boy. Now they're just flopping on Major labels. Faith did have the highest debut of her career on Capitol though w/ The First Lady.

Faith is Flopping and so is 112. Faith had an even smaller hit than 112 did. I consider that flopping hardCORE.
