They said it was one of the fastest-selling shows. There have been a few other shows that have sold out quicker, including one that went out in 2 minutes. :o The second part of this post, I agree with though. I can't believe that there's only one mid-sized venue for NYC booked. It'll be sold out in minutes too. I'm scared that I won't be able to get tickets!

My bad...looks like Alice in Chains and Justin Timberlake hold the record: [glow=red,2,300]Lambert makes history with rapid Starland sellout[/glow] Adam Lambert's June 5th show at the Starland Ballroom was one of the fastest sellouts in venue history. Tickets for the June 5th performance sold out in about 20 minutes, according to venue officials. And while that's a fast pace, it's not the fastest sellout the Sayreville site has seen. A performance by Alice In Chains in 2006 took about two minutes to sell out, while Justin Timberlake's Starland show that year went about as fast. A benefit show to aid victims of the December 2004 Boxing Day tsunami took about four minutes to go clean -- unsurprising, since the lineup included My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed And Cambria and Senses Fail. And speaking of My Chem and Coheed, their August 2004 show - sponsored by the legendary 92.3 K-Rock and costing just .92 cents - took about five minutes to sell out. Why so long? Customers were limited to two tickets apiece. Most Starland shows take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to sell out. But this handful - as well as shows from Velvet Revolver, Brand New, Slayer and now Adam Lambert - only took a few hours. For fans who weren't fortunate enough to land Lambert tickets, don't fret: Starland's sister venue, the Nokia Theatre Times Square, puts a June 22nd Lambert show on sale Saturday at 10am. www.examiner.com/x-2734-Newark-Starland-Ballroom-Examiner~y2010m4d26-Lambert-makes-history-with-rapid-Starland-sellout

Adam sold out Starland faster than any Idol! [glow=red,2,300]Adam Lambert: Starland's fastest-selling 'Idol' -- ever [/glow] In a venue that has seen more than its share of 'Idols,' one stands above all. And his name is Adam Lambert. Tickets for Lambert's Starland show on June 5th went on sale at 10am yesterday (Monday, April 26th.) By 10:20, all of the tickets were gone. And while it wasn't the fastest-selling show in the venue's history - that honor belongs to rock legends Alice In Chains, who perform at The MAC at Monmouth University on May 20th - it does put Lambert ahead of his American Idol alumni. A number of Idol contestants have visited Starland over the years. It started in 2005 when Season 4 finalist Constantine Maroulis held his first concert at the venue. Soon after, Season 6 winner Taylor Hicks stopped by Starland. Elliott Yamin performed at Starland in May 2007, while last year, both Davids - Archuleta and Cook - each managed to sell-out the venue. And though the David sellouts were fast, none went down as quickly as Lambert's. In fact, only a handful of artists - Alice In Chains and Justin Timberlake amongst them - have packed Starland quicker. In fact, on the list of Starland's all-time fastest sellouts, three of the shows are ensemble lineups -- shows made up of multiple artists, often in the name of charity. So what's next for Lambert and Starland? Well, there's the June 5th show, for one. And on June 22nd, he's performing at Starland's sister venue, the Nokia Theatre Times Square. Those tickets - also expected to sell quickly - go on sale Saturday at 10am. www.examiner.com/x-2734-Newark-Starland-Ballroom-Examiner~y2010m4d27-Adam-Lambert-Starlands-fastestselling-Idol--ever

Here's the quote: In other Starland concert news, the venue's David Archuleta show slated for February 26th sold out in record time on Friday. Tickets for that show disappeared in about four minutes, becoming one of the fastest sellouts in ballroom history. 4 mins is most definitely faster than 20 mins. that dude needs to read his own articles before making false claims like that LOL

There seems to be conflicting reports...either way they both sold out extremely fast. It's not like it's some prestigeous honor or anything though lol.

The Pac Amp concert was sold out and another date was added for a day later. If he sells out both of them, 17K people will see him in Cali in those two days. I hope RCA\19 book him some bigger venues in other areas (NY perahps?) as well.

While his sellouts are impressive, you have to remember he is playing probably half-houses in some of the 8000+ arenas. Regardless, it's good to see him doing well.

This and Tampa (40K) are the largest venues in the US currently, the rest of them are mid-sized of about 4K max. In Tampa the prices keep going up, so I think the sales are pretty good there but he definitely won't sell 40K lol, so I think it's impressive, especially in an area like Cali where he didn't have so many spins.. WWFM wasn't in power in any of the Cali stations so far and his concert there is still sold out (in Tampa WFLZ had him on power for weeks.. )

All of the venues which have released tickets so far are either sold out or selling really well. The Pac Amp has sold out one 8.5K date and so they've added another. I think thats why in general they've gone for the smaller venues... choosing to add more dates rather than risk the bigger venues when they might not sell out. Fat chance of that happening in most places though. We know the scalpers have taken quite a few tix because they are up on stubhub etc. but even so - as far as the venue and the tour is concerned it's still a sellout if all the face value tickets have sold. And all Adams casino shows this year have been proper sellouts with nothing or almost nothing left on even stubhub etc.

This is stunningly beautiful. Why the the fuck wasn't it on FYE? Too rock? I think I like it better than anything on the CD (I love FYE, this is just a whole different league, and totally my type of music).

I hope RCA\19 book him some bigger venues in other areas (NY perahps?) as well. Considering that there are 1333 tickets sitting on Stubhub for the first show, I wouldn't expect quite as good a result for sales for the second show. I don't imagine the scalpers will be jumping on it quite the same as they did show #1 since they already have inventory they will probably have difficulty selling. The scalpers bought up about 20% of the Starland show. There are still 452 tickets there available on Stubhub if anyone lost out during the public sale.

Lambert's trek kicks off June 4 in Wilkes Barre, Pa. and will hit 14 more cities through July, with additional dates to be announced. Scalpers snatch as many tickets as they can for any show they think will sell, so they having those tickets doesn't bother me and I personally don't think they'll have problem selling their current stock. If any, the numbers here show why RCA booked him another concert at OC Fair. The scalpers managed to snatch only about 15% of the OC Fair tickets compared to about 40% in Starland.

It's a good point but fans will buy from the venue before the scalpers because of the price differential and there were alot of people who didn't manage to get tickets for the first night so you can't rule it out. I doubt the second night will sell as fast as the first, but I know some fans are planning to go twice! lol. I would given the opportunity.

Full Glam Nation Tour Press Release posted on AO featuring some kind words by Simon Fueller: Adam Lambert Headlines The Glam Nation TourAdam Lambert will embark on his first headlining tour, an audio and visual spectacular, both theatrical and atmospheric, that will give his millions of fans something they'll love to listen to and look at. "The Glam Nation Tour" kicks off June 4 in Wilkes Barre, PA. "I hope the audience will be able to escape for a few hours and fall into a world full of glam, drama and excitement," Lambert says. "And I would love everyone to come away with a new appreciation for the music on my album." Adam's debut album For Your Entertainment (19 Entertainment / RCA Records) has sold over 600,000 copies since making it's debut at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in November. Adam's hit single "Whataya Want From Me," written by Pink and Max Martin, became Adam's first #1 hit on the Billboard charts, topping the Hot Singles Sales survey as well as Hot Dance Singles Sales chart. "Whataya Want From Me" has been a smash hit on many charts, including the Hot 100, Pop Songs, Adult Top 40, Adult Contemporary, Hot Digital Songs and Hot Dance Club Play. It has also become an international hit, going top 10 in Australia, Japan, Sweden and Finland and reaching #1 in Singapore. It's not just the single and album that have been international sensations; it's Adam himself. He was mobbed at airports in Japan and Singapore, and was a media sensation in Scotland, where he showed up in a kilt. Germany fell in love with Adam at first sight, and his single is now surging up the German charts. "Adam is one of the most exciting artists I have ever seen live on stage," says Simon Fuller, Adam Lambert's manager and creator of American Idol. "As great as he was been on the "American Idols Live" summer shows, this tour is going to surpass anything he's done before. I think his millions of fans will remember this tour for the rest of their lives." Adam's performances on Season 8 of "American Idol" are already legendary, his live televised collaborations with Queen and KISS were a highlight of his season and his stunning performances of songs including "Mad World," "The Tracks Of My Tears," "Ring Of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Love" are still widely regarded as some of the most captivating moments in Idol history. Opening for Adam on "The Glam Nation Tour" will be 25-year-old guitar goddess Orianthi and, on select shows fellow Season 8 "American Idol" finalist Allison Iraheta. Orianthi has already performed with some of the biggest names in music: Carlos Santana, Carrie Underwood, Steve Vai, Michael Jackson and most recently Mary J Blige. She has also had incredible success on her own with the release of her debut album Believe (Geffen) last fall and first single "According To You." Radio and fans were quick to embrace "According To You," propelling it to the top of the charts where it was the No. 2 most played song in the country with digital sales of over one million. Her new single, "Shut Up & Kiss Me," is sure to follow suit as it begins to be added to radio station playlists. "I was lucky enough to work with Orianthi on the 'Sleepwalker' track on my album," says Adam. "She is a killer guitarist and a great vocalist. I'm so excited to be sharing the stage with her." At 18, Allison Iraheta has already begun to make her mark in the music industry. After coming in fourth on Season 8 of "American Idol," this vibrant red-haired rocker was signed to 19 Recordings/Jive Records, and released her debut album, Just Like You, this past December. Her first single, "Friday I'll Be Over U," quickly climbed the top 40 charts. Allison is currently gracing the cover of the May issue of Latina Magazine. "I am such a fan of Allison's music and I am so excited for her to perform it live in front of an audience," says Adam. "We have such a great brother and sister energy, having shared the stage both on American Idol and on the tour this summer. She is pure rock and roll."
