The Adam stans really hate Kris I know. It's pretty hilarious to see them show up time and time again with their pitiful attempts to undermine Kris. Do these people ever move on or what? lol

Cookie performed a charity song for cancer very shortly after the heavily reported death of his brother. The song was ABOUT his brother dying of cancer. Very much an outlier situation.
This song will perform how ever it is going to perform off its radio play, not an Idol one shot. Just chill.

It got a nice jump. And as others have mentioned this barely has radio play. Carrie did Change and Daughtry did September (both songs @ the time with limited or no radio play) and I'm pretty sure both of those got 9K (or around there), and hopefully Kris will be around that next week.
Doesn't matter in the long run though...whether he sold 9K this week or 90K. The Idol-effect will disappear in a few days, and then it's all up to radio.

Well, I hope no one will run me off the thread because I am an Adam fan but I just wanted to let you know Reality Bites that Carrie's Change peaked in the 60's on Itunes. I am not real sure what the sales difference would be between the 60's and the 130's ( unless it goes higher) but I thought you might be able to gauge it better if you had that info.
Backs slowly out of thread waving white flag...

Honestly the Adam stans have more faith in this song than I do. I expected it to be a complete bomb the moment it was announced as a single. But they still seem to be extremely concerned that the song might become successful.

An Idol bump is irrelevant for this song. With no radioplay, it wasnt going to sell huge amounts, and even if it did, so what? This is the same as LLWD, where its success will be determined by how much radio takes to it.
So far, this is doing better then I thought it would. HAC seems to be liking it, and top 10/5 seems like it could happen. No idea what will happen on pop, but the boston add is a really good sign. For me, this isnt about whether or not TT will become a huge smash hit, its simply about surviving it in hopes that a third single is released (which they will either fuck Kris-the-songwriter over again and release WAOMF or release a co-write in BWCU or AWM. Any 3 of these would have a chance at being a big hit).

The Truth is at #134 (album version)/#891 (single version) on iTunes right now. Kris's album, meanwhile, is now #95 on the iTunes overall chart. Which is a big bump -- it was in danger of falling out of the Top 1000 a few days ago. Of course a big bump in album sales on iTunes usuallymeans less than 2000 in extra sales, but still...a bump is a bump

LLWD was a slow burner that really started to sell well once it got a ton of radio airplay AND the music video was released. The MV was in the Top 10 on VH1 for a long time and hit #1 on the Top 20 countdown 2 or 3 times. Every weekend after that show aired, LLWD went up the iTunes chart. That couldn't be a total coincidence.
Unfortunately, Kris hasn't filmed a MV for this single and who knows if he will. His tour starts tomorrow and he has pretty much no time off for the next 3 months. If they can squeeze a MV shoot in there, it will likely be a rush job sometime in the next few weeks.

I think it is hard to get a sales bump when you are performing a new single on the Idol finale which is loaded with established artists doing duets plus the hype of the results being announced. There is just too much going on. I would have been surprised if Kris got a huge TT bump. (Compare with Let It Be, which went to top 10 downloads when it was the featured song on the show.) Don't think the comparison to Cook's Permanent is a valid one. I have never downloaded a Cook song in my life (he's good but just not my taste) but I downloaded Permanent after the finale show because it was for charity and the story was very touching. Mind you, I have never played it since, but I did want to contribute. I'll pretty much download any single for charity (like the Hope for Haiti singles, which I also have never played since).
All that being said, I still think it was good for Kris to perform The Truth. These things build on each other.

Soundscene, I really like your take on this situation. I like reading your posts cos I know that I'll get an unbiased, logical and informed comment, which is why I come to Pulse. i really want to get a view of how Kris is doing outside of the fandom.
I agree that the longevity of a single is dependent on radio play. Just like LLWD never needed a performance to bump it up - it remained steadily in the Top 20s on iTunes for many weeks and consistently sold 50-70k a week during its peak weeks. This was due to radio play and I really hope that The Truth gets this as well.

Do we know if and when there will be an MV for this song? Or are they waiting to see if it catches on POP?

Good question. Are they even planning the video? You don't need whole week to shoot a video. they'll need Kris for like 12 hours, i don't even think they'll need Pat and Kris together in one place for it.
(I mean did you see new Orianthi video? no offense to Ori i like her)

Kris is playing the WPLJ Summer Kickoff down at the Jersey Shore early this morning. The radio station is streaming the show live right now and there are evidently like 10000 people there. So this is another good gig for Kris. I wouldn't want to be doing a gig at 7 am, but whatever

I hope this single does well for him so the album can be certified Gold. Heck, if he was Monica it already would be. I'm hoping for 400k but it doesn't seem likely. Hopefully "Live Like You're Dying" sold enough to warrant another album.

His publicist tweeted that he hasn't been in the same state long enough to shoot a MV which does make it appear like there are plans for him to shoot one. Hopefully soon. I se no reason why a song would be released to multi formats and not have a MV.

I have ended up really, really liking this song. Bad time to release it I think, but it still could really surprise. It's a good song.

Kris and the band were fantastic this morning. WPLJ live streamed the whole concert and parts of it were even shown on one of the NYC t.v. stations. And the DJs RAVED about Kris's performance. They are estimating there were around 10,000 people at this event, which I guess is the station's kickoff party for the summer? Anyway, a nice way for Kris to start his tour...

I am really liking this song and I'm so glad my CHR station has jumped on this so quickly. Boston's usually slow on songs like this

I don't know the exact number since Mediabase is all screwed up right now, but it's #167 on the Kiss108 playlist. I guess they're not spinning it that much, but it's on a commercial that's played all the time about the new music they added along with Enrique and Justin Bieber/Usher
