The first single off of Kylie Minogue's anticipated new album, Aphrodite premiered today on UK radio station BBC 1. It's a return to form, after two (moderately) commercially disappointing albums ( Body Language and X). The Jim Eliot & Mima Stilwell-co produced track will be released on June 28th in the UK and June 29th in the U.S. The album will be released on July 5th and 6th in the UK/US respectively. Remixes by WAWA/MMB, XXXChange and Michael Woods. According to Hyperactive, the club promotion service distributing the promo... ***THIS IS A STRICTLY LIMITED DIGITAL PROMO OF JUST 1:50 - EACH FILE IS INDIVIDUALLY WATERMARKED AND CAN BE TRACED BACK TO YOU IF FILE SHARED!!!***Frightening! 1. Can't wait to hear the mixes!!
I still believe would've done a lot better has something else been the first single instead of "Slow." I don't hate "Slow" but I think something like "Secret (Take You Home)" or "Red Blooded Woman" would've been stronger.

THIS IS A STRICTLY LIMITED DIGITAL PROMO OF JUST 1:50
....what does that mean exactly I wonder? Only 50 copies of the 1 promo were sent out? Or each track is only 1min 50sec long? Odd. The Radio Edit & Instrumental (3:21) were also sent out as .wav files; unfortunately they don't filter well enough (in my opinion) to make an acapella. Perhaps it's a different case with the Michael Woods Instr.

Hmm, I hope ATL gets some remixes by some electro/nu-disco house remixers like Russ Chimes or Diamond Cut. Maybe even Fear of Tigers would be great.

Kylie always goes for these strange un-commercial remixers that no one's ever heard of instead of the more mainstream house/circuit names like Tony Moran, Dave Aude, Ralphi Rosario, Love To Infinity, Jason Nevins, etc. It's like she doesn't even care what happens to her on the U.S. Billboard chart. Freemasons were a great choice as was Mark! Pichiotti a few years back, I just wish she would concentrate less on proving her "street cred" or whatever possesses her to hire these no-names. I miss her deConstruction-era days....accessible mainstream remixers like Junior Vasquez, Brothers In Rhythm, David Morales, Motiv8, K-Klass, Metro - none of this weird underground progressive sh*t or blippity-bloppity electro trash. I bought her Boombox remix album, and I don't think there was one single song on the entire CD I enjoyed! :'(

Anyway, I'd be happy if they got mainstream and less mainstream remixers for this song so they could please everyone. I just don't want to be stuck with a bunch of remixes by just mainstream guys like Dave Aude, Jason Nevins, Tony Moran, etc. Most of their remixes sound the same and cheap and tame imo. IMO this song is BEGGING for a hot, electro/nu-disco house remix. Especially since that's the type of sound the original is based on. Also Russ Chimes, Diamond Cut, and Fear of Tigers are very capable of providing an accessible remix when they want to imo. Russ Chimes' remix of Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed Russ Chimes' remix of Frankmusik - Confusion Girl Diamond Cut remix of M'black - Heartbreak Fear of Tigers' remix of The Sound of Arrows - Into The Clouds

Michael Woods would be far more world renowned than someone like Tony Moran. It's one thing to say you'd like a circuit mix but circuit isn't mainstream. Seriously, Jason Nevins? I'd rather have her commissioning remixers based on their respect within the industry than burning her money on the same old lazy talentless hacks. Anyway this song needs a Mango or Dezza remix. Could be something really beautiful.

^ Disappointing. All build up and no climax. It started off pleasant. I think Pete didn't play the whole mix though.

Just heard all the mixes and I can say the Wawa & MMB Anthem is the best of the bunch, it keeps the line of the original version, it's fun and perfect for clubs IMO. The Wawa Dark Mix is more like a Dub of the Anthem mix, basically the same thing. Michael Woods is plain IMO, the music is the same along the whole mix, nothing happens. The XXXchange mix is kinda cool, messy electro stuff, with some vocal loops here and there, mostly like a Dub, only full vox used for the chorus. I like it. Would be cool if Freemasons remix this! :) ^ Disappointing. All build up and no climax. It started off pleasant. I think Pete didn't play the whole mix though. that's the way of the whole mix.

The Wawa & MMB Anthem mix is definitely better than the Michael Woods mix. It's nothing that special, but it at least has high energy and keeps the euphoric element of the original. I haven't heard the XXXchange mix yet.
Hopefully there will be a second batch of better remixes for this or at least some great unofficial remixes, since this is Kylie's big comeback single.

Something aimed towards the U.S. market would be nice. The studio acapella hasn't leaked yet to my knowledge, but if I had the Michael Woods vocal/main mix & instrumental, I'll bet I could filter a pretty good acapella for fans to use for unofficial remixes....

I have a decent acapella that I made with the original and the original instrumental.. I'm thinking of trying a remix of it too.

Okay so this isnΒ΄t really a remix but it is a longer mix off teh original song for the ones that want to enjoy the song longer. It's an unofficial mix but it sounds great!

Junior played a mix of this at Cielo. I don't believe it was one of the released mixes, although it could have been an acapella slapped onto something else. It was nice to hear. Loving the WaWa mixes.

There's a Dada Life remix which is pretty by-the-numbers in their usual style. Some people may like it, but I feel their productions in the last 3 or 4 months have been really lacking (trade off for popularity I suppose).

Fear of Tigers' remix is great! The best of the bunch so far! I love the piano that comes in toward the end. Reminds me of early 90s dance music. Too bad I don't think it's official. Big mistake imo.
