if they release You Lost Me and they play their card right, it could become a major hit. I think it's the side that people like of her. This is the side I like of you. You Lost Me is a wonderful song. One of my faves by her, actually.

^ I'm afraid I don't even see the album going gold at this point. Memoirs debuted with 170k and has yet to sell over 500k (I think) and that album had the Christmas sales boost to its advantage. Bionic will likely debut with lower numbers in a very weak sales period. I hope I'm wrong though. She'll go gold no doubt. Memoirs is certified gold for shipments, it's getting close. Why do ya'll keep comparing her cd to Memoirs'.

The album is gonna debut with a disappointing 180,000 115,000. It SHOULD debut with 350,000 40,000 based on the album's quality, though. LMAO... This is Glitter level fail with this project.

When do guest performers usually perform on the Today Show? I don't feel like waking up too early.

Christina already has an established fanbase

'Obsessed' was a monster hit relative to 'Not Myself Tonight'. As a result, people are predicting this will do even worse than Memoirs now.

His first two single flopped bad. And then he came with a 2nd one and his album steadily got to gold.

Obsessed had over 85 million impressions at its peak and was a Top 10 hit - whereas Not Myself Tonight is nowhere to be found. And Memoirs, despite the benefit of the holiday sales period, has still not scanned gold. Why anyone would expect this album to do better based on the facts is completely beyond me.

You listened to the album before it's release? REPORTED!!! that's piracy :'( As we've seen time and time again, having an "already established fanbase" means jack s**t when it comes to record sales. Mariah had an "already established fanbase" - in fact, a much larger one than Christina's - and Memoirs still underperformed, selling less than a tenth of what TEOM did just five years ago. The bottom line is you have to actually put out material that connects with your audience if you're going to sell consistently. And, given the digital response to the lead single and the general lack of any public interest in this project, Christina is not connecting on any level with her fanbase or with the general public. If they wanted this to have any chance at a respectable opening and consistent sales, they needed to get that second single out the moment NMT started plummeting down the iTunes charts. Now, we don't have any word on what the second single will be - but we know she's filming a video for WooHoo, long after it was DOA on radio, so that's a complete waste. Although I don't envy their task of having to choose singles from this album - like Memoirs, there's not much that's radio friendly beyond the lead.

ppl dont doubt her chances. she will go platinum. The album will debut with 170k and she will reach platinum status by march 2011. If she has wise single choices. True stans never give up hope.

The difference, quite honestly, is that Lambert connected with the audience he cultivated on AI, which some other contestants have failed to do with their debuts or sophomore efforts. Look at Jordin Sparks - it worked the first time out, but failed the second. AI is the ultimate proof that you can be exposed and promote yourself for months on end, but if people aren't motivated to buy, you're going straight down the toilet. So, all this talk of Christina's amazing promo schedule is kinda funny - she could perform NMT six ways from Sunday on network television every day and people still wouldn't bite.

Lambert still had a failed first single though, even worse then NMT. I see Adam's AI fanbase the same as Christina's already established fanbase. We'll just have to wait and see.

One single may not do as well, and the next one might. Somethings take a little longer to gain traction than others. Having said that sometimes having a loyal following does have it's plus's. Lots of promo is always better than have little to none at all, atleast that way people are aware.

I agree that there can be no downside to her promoting at this point - the major thing they need to decide on is a single, because she's got one more shot at a hit single this era, if that.

This album prolly has already 250k illegal downloads regardless, This is christina Aguilera. her comeback attack. Even though im scared for her. I will still want her to do good. If Glee and Twilight beat her i would be pissed. Anyother artist can outsell her that week its cool but not by 2 soundtrack albums.
