This is not so much for songs on pop because anything fits pop, but moreso hearing rap on AC or something.
Today WRKS (Urban AC) played "Never Leave You" and "Get Busy".
They also played "Work It" by Missy a while back.
"Dilemma" and "Luv U Better" worked alright on WRKS, but I think Sean Paul is going a little far.

I've already seen them play some rap and aren't that surprised. Emmis could be making WRKS their middle age demographic station in the market (older listeners than WQHT and younger listeners than WQCD). WRKS is the greatest gainer in the ratings and is up to third place and 0.1 behind second.

Some urban ACs are playing "The Way You Move", which I don't think fits on urban AC.
My pop station plays 90s rock cuts, like "Runaway Train", "Shine" and "Two Princes". Good songs, but they don't fit on CHR anymore.

It's in the Top 10, whereas I don't remember seeing the songs The Rebirth Experience listed ever charting on Urban AC. I don't think playing "The Way You Move" on Urban AC is worse than playing the Urban AC Top 20 "Dilemma." For Lumidee on Urban AC it's a big difference between the original and the remix with two out of three verses being rap. I don't know how it did, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if "Into You" got a little Urban AC airplay.

"The Way You Move" sounds like a lot of the classic funk cuts that Urban AC plays. It's the same reason why "Crazy In Love" fit the Urban AC format well. Urban AC is not based on how quiet the music is. It's the style.

Today WRKS (Urban AC) played "Never Leave You" and "Get Busy". That doesn't surprise me so much. It depends which version of "Never Leave You" first of all. I've also known Hot AC stations that play "Get Busy."

Very early this morning, WYOY played Bobby Brown's My Prerogative (yet another '80s song).
