Hopefully we can see an actual intelligent rap track topping charts! This will be out next month. It's from their long awaited follow-up to the hip-hop classic, The Score. Rolling Stone Article

It's crazy. Lauryn has two albums that came out ages ago that she's basically been afraid to follow-up because they're both classics. The fate of this project may determine what happens with her solo return.

Wow... this big long wait and then this so suddenly pops up out of nowhere? I'm hoping this isn't rushed then. I'm super excited but a little skeptical too because Pras's recent song was awful and Lauryn's voice at the BET Awards was not exactly the best.

I am really anticipating. Unless "Take It Easy" is something completely different from what they've done, I'm probably going to like it. This will do if we aren't going to get a new Lauryn album soon.

Lauryn's voice is shot to hell. She's on John Legend's "So High" remix sounding like a choked up man. She's never really been about clarity though, so if the material is good, it won't really matter to me.

Yeah. As long as Lauryn has that passion behind her, that manly voice wont even matter!

LOL! This was unexpected. It would be like going to the alternative forum and seeing a new Guns N Roses single going for adds in three weeks. I'm looking forward to this

I can't wait to hear this!!!
I think Lauryns voice is bad b/c she hasn't been taking care of it. i remember when she sounded bad on that live show on MTV. The people said she knew her voice was "raw" that day but didn't want to reschedule, b/c she wanted to show everyone singers aren't perfect and have good and bad days too. Hopefully, now that she's working with clef he can talk some sense into her. LOL

Wendy is interviewing Pras as I type this. Pras said he's unaware that the Fugees have a new single coming out, and he's going to call Wyclef on the air momentarilty to confront him. He also said the Black Eyed Peas stole the Fugees style and that Lauryn wants to only be referred to now as "Miss Hill"

Where did Rolling Stone get this from? Honestly, one of them probably said that it was true and now they're denying it because they're all so weird.

Oh my God! They are all so wacko! That is for SURE..this interview didn't enlighten us too much. First they say they no nothing of a new single, and then say they're in the studio "vibin" and it's a possibilty.

106 & Park just did a news segment on the Fugees. They said their single "Take It Easy" is due to hit radio in a few weeks, lmao.

This is the first single and its club banger FIYAH.
They were probably just acting like they never heard about the song because they wanted to catch people off guard with it.

I like this. But it's not of the same quality as their older stuff. It could use a catchier hook, for example.

Ok so that's what I must have heard tonight on the radio....I heard something that definitely sounded like The Fugees, it was Lauryn and someone else, I changed at first but when I went back I think it was Wyclef...but I changed again and paid it no mind, thinking it was some old song

Lauryn's flow is crazy on this. Especially on her second verse.

This is very disappointing, especially considering it took 9 years for this. They were better when all their singles had heavy samples on the beats and hooks.

New Fugees Song Leaks; Group Has Been Working On LP For Months 09.23.2005 6:13 PM EDT
Album from reunited group tentatively scheduled for December 27.

It's taken just about a decade, but the Fugees reunion that fans begged for, gave up on and then started asking for again is official. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Prakazrel Michel have been in the studio for two months, according to their label, and have just leaked a new song called "Be Easy."
The reunion album is still untitled, but a tentative release date of December 27 has been scheduled. There's no word yet on who the group has been working with.
On "Be Easy," the three exchange verses, with Hill employing a speedy, spoken-word-type of flow, while Clef and Pras use a more traditional delivery. "I got moxie, I'm so damn cocky/ Industry tried to block me like cops and paparazzi," Hill raps. Later she says, "We 'bout to reconcile."
"I see you looking, but you better take it easy," Clef advises during the chorus. He comes a little harder in his verse: "I ain't rhyme in a minute, but y'all ain't catch up/ And that ain't blood on your shirt, it's ketchup."
The Fugees stunned the crowd with a surprise performance at Dave Chappelle's block party in Brooklyn, New York, last summer (see "Fugees — Yes, Even Lauryn — Reunite For Dave Chappelle's Block Party"), and their most recent show was in June at the BET Awards (see "Destiny's Child Give Lap Dances, Fugees End Feud At BET Awards"). Hill had been cutting records for a solo album, however details on the project remain sketchy (see "Kanye West Collaborating With Lauryn Hill On New LP"). Pras just releases his latest solo LP, Win, Lose or Draw, a few weeks ago. Clef released a Caribbean-flavored LP called Welcome to Haiti: Creole 101 last year.

This is ok. It's not catchy like their older stuff but the "Miss Hill" rap is really good.
