I think she's pacing herself well. She laid down the foundation for her career brilliantly over the past to years. Total expossure. She is now an icon and house hold name. She has set herself up well to be able to experiment and push her brand in a new direction if she still holds onto the core structures of what made her popular. i know but i'm selflish. I want more music

I think she's done a phenomenal job establishing herself. She's one of the most exciting overnight sensations in music history.

If Lady Gaga/her label time everything right and she puts out a smash for a first single, she's going to have huge first week sales.

I think her label knows what they are doing. This short break will really help the overexposure factor to be a thing of the past. I really hope she gets her 3rd hot 100 #1 and has another streak of pop #1s .

Yay, it's finally done. She keeps on saying Hooker. Hooker on a Church Corner must really be a song title. Or else she just likes saying Hooker.

I hope her label is pretty much guaranteeing success. I cannot imagine her having any less than 120% of their support-it really isn't every day you see someone easily pass 10 million albums sold worldwide or have that big of a tour when they have only been known for two years. It is in their interest to make sure she doesn't flop. So much comes down to the songs though-even total and complete support won't sell bad music. I just cannot fathom her releasing anything but quality though lol.

Gaga has proven that she can take pop and bring it in a new direction without it being entirely left field of the standard. I severely doubt anything will be green-lit that isn't a guaranteed hit or otherwise.

I have noticed Interscope is like an all or nothing kind of label. They either put everything behind you if you're a success (like GaGa and BEP) or they leave you flat on your ass if you can't manage to get momentum (like the Flopzinger and a few others). So I have faith they will back up GaGa.

^well they've started promoting the flopzinger a lot recently anyways, I didnt like her recent comments when she got on about the recent songs like katy, ke$ha and p!nk's about being positivity and being yourself....IMO it just seems like she is just upset that they put out that message before she got the chance to. it is a popular theme recently that is a bit "trendy" but theres still nothing wrong with that. she made it seem like it was a negative thing when all of the songs with that concept out now (raise your glass, firework, we r who we r) all still have some kind of empowering messages in it.

Gaga will do well. Interscope will promote her. She's not at that stage yet where people are sick of her. See XTina. When that happens, it will turn ugly. But not yet.
Interscope is inconsistent, but does promote it's biggest artists. However, you still need to release good material or it won't matter... See BEP.

She is better off sticking to the same formula (musically) than venturing off and doing something crazy, but I have a feeling that she may venture off and do something crazy, but who's to say that her venturing off and doing something crazy won't be particularly incredible...

She is better off sticking to the same formula (musically) than venturing off and doing something crazy, but I have a feeling that she may venture off and do something crazy, but who's to say that her venturing off and doing something crazy won't be particularly incredible... This is going to be a pivotal moment in her career. There are two clear directions that aren't "bad", per say; just risky. 1. The new music could be very much in line with what she has released thus far. This would be "playing it safe" and we would get "more of the same". But why fix what isn't broken? At the same time, people will criticize her for rehashing her previous material. 2. She can go so left field (whether it be very dark, very rock, etc) that it would perhaps turn people off. This would obviously be a new sound but it might be too drastic of a change for people and she could alienate casual fans. (examples of eras like these are rampant in the industry: My December, Try This, etc) If she can find a balance between these two polar opposite directions, she'll have it made. The music needs to be different enough from her previous material to be fresh and show growth but it also can't be too much of a departure. I have faith her and her creative team have a solid vision and that they know what they're doing. If anyone can pull off either of the aforementioned scenarios, though, it's Gaga. She's got the power.

You can't release the same stuff and expect to sell well. Maybe not a drastic change but at least one that sounds like a progression.

BEP would have fared a lot better had their lead-single been stronger. It wasn't so much the lack of departure as it was the song just not being all that good as evidenced by the lackluster receiving it has gotten thus far.
But yes, I definitely think a refreshing new(er) sound would be welcomed.

I don't forsee a "My December" type era. Everyone who's already heard the songs are in love with them, whereas Kelly didn't have much support from her label with that album.
