If they're including more new songs which there hasn't been any indication of yet. isn't that the general formula for a re-release? Can't remember the last re-release that didn't use this strategy. If they just say "hey album's out again go buy it" I mean, really, who's going to give two fucks? I agree though, the album is very non-commercial. Not always a bad thing, but clearly her singles aren't doing what they used to. I'd say it's a fair assumption we'll see "radio singles" on there, provided this is all factual.

If they just say "hey album's out again go buy it" I mean, really, who's going to give two fucks? Before the whole trend of re-releasing albums with songs on them, they would often be re-released with bonus material that wasn't new songs but just simply a "deluxe edition" that included either remixes or just simply a bonus DVD. ...I think. I typically ignored re-releases. I think they became a thing around 2005 or so but they did happen before that.

Wasn't trying to imply that that all re-releases prior used that formula or that they've only come about recently. I was saying that all recent re-releases (the more notable ones, anyway) did, however.
Point is her label would be stupid not to put more songs on it. People just don't care about remixes/bonus DVDs anymore.

I wonder if they are tossing around the idea of a re-release or how to do it right now. From what I am hearing (yes I know) there are no new songs planned though which makes a re-release seem stupid if it is just the tour DVD or something.

That'd be the obvious thing to do but unless they're putting on rejects, I wonder if GaGa has even recorded anything new other than with Tony or Cher*. Though I guess she has had the time to do a few songs since she's not touring yet. Even still, I think a DVD, depending on the material, would suffice in the eyes of a label re-releasing an album. Whether fans buy in is a whole other story. *maybe the new songs with Tony and Cher will be/are being considered? ....I hope not though. BTW as it is now does have a specific flow to it. Even adding newly recorded unreleased songs might interrupt that flow. I'd almost rather it be something else...

With the amount of material Gaga's recorded over the years it wouldn't be difficult to bring up a few cuts and rework them to fit the record, even from the Born This Way sessions.

Gaga herself on Ryan Seacrest. I doubt it means new album due in the next few months or something. I would not expect anything before Fall 2012 at the earliest. I am just happy she is doing something that shows she is not going to sit with BTW for the next three years and release a new cd in 2013/2014.

I'm almost positive given the record's current standing her label wouldn't let her do that anyway.

Well see with Gaga I am afraid she would be one of those people who would throw a huge baby fit and thwart or fight the label if it came down to it. I have seen that happen to other celebs I like (I tend to like feisty bitches) and it makes me sad because it always ends up in the artist losing. So, if the record lael told her she was obligated to record a new cd immediately with Dr. Luke recordings I could see her not doing even if it meant ruining herself.
I doubt she is being forced against her will here though and as long as that stays true I am happy and hopefully Gaga/Label are also happy.

Fall of next year/2013 sounds koolness. "BTW" still has a couple of hits left.

I feel like most of the songs on BTW are destined to be minor hits rather than major so she could still feasibly have 1-2 more singles and then call it a day, tour for most of next year/not have active singles and then have something prepared for late 2012. I do hope she releases in time for holiday sales-she is big enough to not be lost in the shuffle especially if they are a bit more careful about having a surefire smash next time around.

Gaga is always working, its just what she does. So her working on her new album isn't much of a surprise. It has nothing to do with BTW's chart performance, she's just a workaholic. If she had her way she would have released 'Born This Way' much earlier.

I'm almost positive the November release from GaGa is her album of Jazz standards she said she wanted to release for her fans by the end of the year. She said in an interview back in may that she was talking with her manager to get an album of "Jazz/GaGa standards" released by the years' end for Christmas. And we saw her performing the Jazz version of "You And I" in the MTV VMA Promo's which further leads me to believe that. So I don't think she's going to re-release the album.
Also there are rumours circulating that "Scheiße" is going to be the next single from "Born This Way". Guena LG, a frequent GaGa remixer, just confirmed working on a remix for the song.

I'm sure a new album will be out around Q4 2012. There is still more to use from this era.

Based on that setlist, "Hair" or "Scheiße" will be the next single?

I'm so happy that she didn't perform "Marry the Night". I'm hoping that means they're deciding between Scheiße and Hair.

I know it's all speculation but Schiebe release and a Jazz album in Q4 would be amazing. I need a video for Schiebe.
*Also, not to be a pain, but could someone post her full iHeartRadio setlist?
