I just had a nap. The show hasn’t been cancelled yet has it? Ooh gosh... sorry, sis, but Céline has the sniffles and the show's been postponed again, this time to next July. Happy travels back to Halifax... Psyche! The Show Must Go On! Enjoy! We expect a full report...

So, the Celine show. This was my first time seeing her live so it was quite exciting for me since she was the first singer I stanned hard for beginning back in the mid-90s. There was no opener, probably because this was a rescheduled show. Hearing her voice live is as exquisite as hearing her on her albums - she does sound just as good! And seeing her in person (albeit on the big screen) was something I found so comforting and familiar. I think knowing of her and following her career for such a long time to finally see her live, it was like seeing something so familiar that you haven't seen in a long time. She spoke entirely in french so my understanding of her stories between songs was minimal, and there was quite a bit of onstage banter. She's as every bit silly and comedic as she's known for. The setlist was about 1/3 French, 2/3 English numbers, and she did a decent range of her hits from the 90s, but other than I'm Alive, she paid dust to everything from The Prayer (1998) to the new album (2019), so no A New Day Has Come, no I Drove All Night, nothing for the albums in between. tbh, I was okay with that. I was sad she didn't do To Love You More though. I didn't expect Where Does My Heart Beat Now, but it would have been a nice surprise. She did do Beauty and the Beast (as a duet with one of her backup singers), which was a pleasant surprise. I also thought it was nice that she changed up some of her classics slightly to make them sound fresh. It's All Coming Back To Me Now was slightly bouncier and almost happier sounding - only she just did the first verse, chorus and then the finish. Many of the songs she did weren't the full ones. Love Can Move Mountains was another that was changed up, and she didn't do all of that either. I have a new appreciation for Imperfections. She nailed that one. Courage was another that I really liked that she did. She did The Prayer solo, including the Italian verse. She did an 11-minute medley of 70s and 80s glam-rock/motown hits that I feel like she never would have done if Rene was still alive because it was so sexual and almost risque for her, starting with Let's Dance, Another One Bites The Dust, Kiss, River Deep Mountain High (which she covered on Falling Into You) and ending with Lady Marmalade. After All By Myself, the audience roared for at least 3 minutes straight, which seemed to surprise her. But the real applause came after My Heart Will Go On, in the encore, where the applause went for over 7 minutes - and she cried. It was so emotional!! She seemed so genuinely moved, I don't think she expected it at all but it was so great to be part of it! And when she sang the final song, Pour que tu m'aimes encore, the entire audience sang along. It was a great show! The lights and visuals were fantastic. There was a string quartet, two drummers, guitars, pianist, conductor, they really went all out. {Setlist}It's All Coming Back to Me Now Dans un autre monde À vous I'm Alive The Power of Love Love Can Move Mountains Beauty and the Beast Encore un soir You're the Voice Tous les blues sont écrits pour toi Ziggy Courage All by Myself Imperfections The Prayer S'il suffisait d'aimer Let's Dance / Another One Bites The Dust / Kiss / River Deep, Mountain High / Lady Marmalade

www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/8544604/celine-dion-first-no-1-album-in-over-17-yearsCeline Dion Scores First No. 1 Album in Over 17 Years on Billboard 200 Chart11/24/2019 by Keith Caulfield “Courage” bows at No. 1, earning the pop superstar her fifth chart-topping album. Pop superstar Celine Dion debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with her new studio album Courage. The set, which was released on Nov. 15 via Columbia Records, earned 113,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Nov. 20 in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music. Courage marks Dion’s fifth No. 1 album, and her first chart-topper in over 17 years. She was last at No. 1 with 2002’s A New Day Has Come. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Nov. 30-dated chart, where Courage bows at No. 1, will be posted in full on Billboard's websites on Nov. 26. Of Courage’s total unit start of 113,000, album sales comprise 109,000, SEA units equal 3,000 and TEA units total 1,000. Courage’s first week got a boost from album sales generated by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with Dion’s Courage World Tour. Courage is Dion’s first English-language studio album since 2013’s Loved Me Back to Life, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 (dated Nov. 23, 2013). Here are some notable achievements for Dion with the arrival of Courage: Five No. 1s: Courage is Dion’s fifth No. 1 on the Billboard 200. She has previously hit the top with Falling Into You (No. 1 for three weeks in 1996), Let’s Talk About Love (one week in 1998), All the Way… A Decade of Song (three weeks total, two in 1999 and one in 2000) and A New Day Has Come (one week in 2002). No. 1s in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s: Dion has now collected No. 1 albums in each of the last three decades. She’s just the 13th act, and fourth woman, to achieve the feat. The others: Backstreet Boys, Garth Brooks, Dave Matthews Band, Janet Jackson, Jay-Z, Metallica, Nas, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, Britney Spears and U2. Over 17 Years Between No. 1s: Dion had to wait over 17 years for her latest No. 1 between A New Day Has Come’s lone week at No. 1 on April 13, 2002 through Courage’s premiere. That’s the longest spell between No. 1s for a woman ever on the chart. She surpasses the 16-year and nearly four-month gap tallied by Whitney Houston between the final week at No. 1 for the Houston-led soundtrack to The Bodyguard (May 29, 1993) and the debut of I Look To You (Sept. 19, 2009). While Dion’s gap between No. 1s is extensive, it’s actually not the longest wait in 2019 for a new No. 1. On the Feb. 9-dated chart, Backstreet Boys returned to No. 1 for the first time in 18 years and nearly two months, as DNA debuted atop the chart. It was the group’s first week at No. 1 since Black & Blue spent its second and final week in charge on Dec. 16, 2000. A solo artist waited longer than Dion for a No.1, but topped the chart a little over a year ago: Paul McCartney’s Egypt Station premiered at No. 1 on the Sept. 22, 2018-dated list. It was his first No. 1 in 36 years. 13 Top 10 Albums: Dion now has a lucky 13 top 10-charting albums on the Billboard 200. Her first title to visit the region was The Colour of My Love, which climbed to the top 10 on Feb. 25, 1994, when it rose 14-10 after debuting on the list dated Nov. 27, 1993. Colour was Dion’s third chart entry, following Unison (which peaked at No. 74 in 1991) and a self-titled album (No. 34 in 1992).

I'm wondering if the new Westlife album will outsell Courage in the U.K. and other markets? People shouldn't be expecting much in sales from Celine when it comes to any market, so likely. lol Yup. Westlife come in at #1 in the U.K., keeping Céline at #2.

Celine performed imperfections on the parade this morning (pre-recorded I’m sure). Less than 2 hours later back up to #38 on iTunes.

I don't know who made the decision to relegate "Soul" to the Japanese edition, but they should be fired. It's one of my favourite tracks on the album and deserves to be heard by a wider audience. I'm starting a letter-writing campaign.

I just noticed today that Courage (the album) has an Explicit symbol by it on iTunes and I was like wtf? A Celine Dion album with the big red E? Turns out she says the word “shit” on a song. I was shocked!

I got to listening to this this week, and wow is it good! A lot of really solid tracks on here.
My favorites are: Heart of Glass Imperfections How Did You Get Here Courage
I’m glad it debuted at #1 here in the US! It’s what she deserves.

She has a ton of random compilations but none that exist as a proper Greatest Hits the way All The Way was treated. Basically, I just want a hits album that Where Does My Heart Beat Now isn't left off of.

I feel that was what they were going for with My Love: The Essential Collection (which was essentially the full-length greatest hits collection follow-up to All The Way from the label). All The Way sold an additional like 1.5 million through club sales on top of that 8.2 million figure as well.

I forgot about that one. It does have a greater representation of her hits but still leaves off quite a few, like To Love You More, while it has a few songs that feel out of place. I guess it would be hard to satisfy a good track list because she has so many singles and hits across different territories and languages.
