Nice to see Esmee Denters getting some airplay.. I wonder if this single will help launch her here with the help of Justin Timberlake on vocals? It's sad that "Outta Here" didn't do anything here.. Its gonna be a steep climb for her, but I suppose there is a slim chance she'll find some success. love dealer will not be successful for here, its just way to bad (i loved outta here)

This could be Katy's week -- #6 on Hot 100 Airplay w/ 89.2 million (+17.7 million) and 316,386 (+23%) in sales. Usher continues at #1 in Airplay w/ 157.8 million (+18.3 million) and holds steady in sales. In streaming, Usher is #2 (up from 5) and Katy #9 (up from 15).

Do we know where "Billionaire" or "Not Afraid" are this week in digital sales? It will probably determine whether or not Gaga inches up to the top five of the Hot 100 this week.

Katy Perry logs the fastest No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 by an artist signed to Capitol Records in nearly 43 years, as "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, rises 2-1 in its fourth week on the chart.
The song makes the quickest sprint to the summit by a Capitol single since Bobbie Gentry's "Ode to Billie Joe" likewise reached the top spot in four weeks on the chart dated Aug. 26, 1967. Five months before Gentry, the Beatles' "Penny Lane" had also zipped to No. 1 in four frames.
Perry's hit crowns the chart thanks in part to its selling 318,000 downloads (up 18%) in the chart's tracking week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The cut leads Digital Songs for a third week. On Radio Songs, "California Gurls" jumps 10-6 (89.2 million in audience, up 25%, according to Nielsen BDS).
"California Gurls" is Perry's second Hot 100 No. 1. "I Kissed a Girl" led for seven weeks beginning in July 2008. Snoop Dogg collects his third leader on the list, following his own "Drop It Like It's Hot" in 2004 and Akon's "I Wanna Love You," on which he guested, in 2006.
All charts will be refreshed on Billboard.com tomorrow (June 10)

I knew that song would make #1. It's ultra stupid catchy, and the airplay has been through the roof from the outset.

Haha I was looking at the second-week releases from American Idol to see which one had the smallest drop. Oh irony of ironies, it was "Falling Slowly."

Highest digital sales for a non-debut since Tik Tok's Xmas boon, and before that Boom Boom Pow.

Wow how did Crazy B***h by Buckcherry cross the 2 million mark??? It only peaked at 59 back in 2006... a minor hit if anything?

So Gaga doesn't make top five this week. :(
Maybe it will sneak in there next week, its digital sales need to spike up again

Wow how did Crazy B***h by Buckcherry cross the 2 million mark??? It only peaked at 59 back in 2006... a minor hit if anything? It's had amazing longevity much like "Don't Stop Believin'", however. The fact a song that unabashedly explicit charted on the Billboard Hot 100 is impressive in itself, and it remained on the lower half of the iTunes Top 100 for months on end. "Sorry" all but certainly wouldn't have been the hit it was if not for the extraordinary cult success of "Crazy B***h". Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

So Gaga doesn't make top five this week. :( Maybe it will sneak in there next week, its digital sales need to spike up again I didn't think it would quite make it this week. It was a slightly lower iTunes chart position from last week. If the video reception buoys the single's placement even mildly, I think it'll get there next week. Otherwise, it'll settle for a #6 peak. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

Not counting holiday weeks, isn't 318K the second-highest sales for a female in the digital era, outside of Taylor Swift's "Today Was a Fairytale"?

Yes there's 2 new Glee songs in the top 10, but if they weren't there it would still place it at #7, not any higher than it was before the video.

^^It was #8 before the video. But all minor details aside, "Telephone" took a couple days to spike in sales after the video debuted so maybe this will be the same, let's see how it does after the Glee stuff clears and the video gets around more.
